*She's so High by Tal Bachman plays in the background* BECAUSE IT'S TOTALLY THEIR SONG
I've slowly grown to like this more and more, to the point where now I actually really like this, like a lot. Like, if I can't have Felsa, I can totally go with this.
...THIS IS ALL JENNIFER LEE'S FAULT. SHE MADE MARIA SHIP IT, AND THEN MARIA MADE ME SHIP IT. IT'S THE DOMINO EFFECT, WHERE WE ALL FALL INTO THIS SHIP.
Okay, so at first, I was not really open to shipping this. I thought people shipped these two just because they were single. Still, I couldn't help but be curious about this ship. So then Maria made this essay in favor of this ship and I grew to like it. And I liked it more. And more. And more. Until now I love it a lot! OH ICEBREAKER, YOU'VE COME SO FAR IN MY HEART! It might have to do with the fact that this ship reminds me of Felsa, even though look-wise, it's the anti Felsa. While Flynn and Elsa look like models together, Ralph and Elsa look more realistic with Ralph not being conventionally attractive....though they both are brunets....and so is Hiccup who I also kinda ship Elsa with....geesh, what is with me and shipping Elsa with brunets, get rejecting her with those who aren't? (Kristoff, Jack, Hans). And this is the opposite with Rapunzel. (I don't ship Eugenzel or Hiccunzel, but I love Jackunzel and Audrunzel).
Anyway, back to the important stuff, Relsa. Like Flynn and Elsa, Ralph and Elsa are a couple that on the outside they look very different, but on the inside they couldn't be more alike. Sure, they have their differences: Ralph is hotheaded and easily angered, Elsa is subdued and reserved. When Ralph is rejected, he faces his problems head-on and does his best to fix things. When Elsa is rejected, she runs away from the problem. Both of these cases are definitely justified. However, besides these differences, they are very similar. Both of them have been rejected by the people around them and seen as bad guys or monsters, for something they cannot control, and both of their stories revolve around them eventually accepting who they are and others end up accepting them as well. They are both truly kindhearted but are seen as the bad guys of their story, like in Ralph's video game and the original Snow Queen story Frozen was based off. This is something that Flynn and Elsa technically can't relate much with, because Elsa is an outcast unfairly. Flynn was an honest to God thief.
Granted, you can argue that they're too similar. Both Ralph and Elsa have difficulty controlling their emotions and not listening to what people have to say. Still, I believe that they encouraging the other would make them say 'Gee, maybe I should take my own advice...' Neither Ralph or Elsa are too stubborn to look at their own faults (If anything, they both constantly make up fake flaws because of self-hatred).
And yes, I know it's cliché. but shipping the bumbling clumsy Ralph with the regal Queen Elsa is adorable and nothing you can say will make me change my mind. Besides, it's Elsa. If there's anyone who would not care about appearance or be judgmental on trivial things like physical appearance and inability to hit on her (hell I think she would appreciate this), it's Elsa.
Yes, though I still prefer Felsa, entirely because it's a little more original and more intense for the Queen/Thief pair up, I really do love this one. It's stolen my heart.
Rating: 8.5/10
I CAN'T BELIEVE I FINISHED MARIA'S MASSIVE SHIP LIST. HOW DID I EVEN DO IT?!
...I would say leave suggestions before...but I think she covered it all...
