And here, everyone, is Nico's hypocrisy hour! Because, even if I shit on Jelsa on a daily basis, I actually ship this. Ironic, considering that Jack and Merida have the same maturity level.
Yes, I know that some people ship this entirely because they're single, and that's wrong. Especially because you can not be interested in a relationship and not be a lesbian. Some people on here just don't get that. And yes, Merida is very immature, especially compared to Elsa, so I really don't see them getting married or anything. Still, I find their relationship very intriguing.
The idea of Elsa's desperation to find freedom leading her to Merida and asking for her help on how to be free, seems as a really cool setup that would lead to a lot of adventures. I can also imagine Elsa admiring Merida's rebellion, that even if Elsa would think she's going too far, she'd still admire her bravery and dedication to herself, which Elsa, a person who is dangerously selfless, might make her start thinking a bit more of herself too.
Yes, Elsa and Merida have very different ideologies about royalty, and I like that. I don't think many people realize that a couple that constantly agrees is not realistic. In real life, couples disagree and have different views on things. Not everything is all fluff and happy ever afters in real life. Especially in relationships. Merida and Elsa would disagree, and that's fine and healthy. And they are allowed to have these different views even when they balance the other out.
I honestly think Elsa is the perfect person to show Merida that your family is not going to hold you back from being yourself, since Elsa is able to keep her powers in control and show who she is because of her love for Anna. Unlike Jelsa, I feel like there are different aspects in their relationship that haven't already been solved by someone else, and that they can solve them together.
Besides...Merida having a crush on the beautiful Elsa is goddamn adorable XD
I don't ship Elsa and Merida as a couple that will last and get married. I ship Elsa and Merida as a super fun and nontraditional couple. And I don't find anything wrong with that.
