I park in the parking lot of the hotel and head up to my room. I head inside the room and see Dirk on the couch. When his eyes meet mine he smiles. "It's about time Dave." Dirk jumps up and I laugh at him. He comes up to me and starts kissing me. I laugh again as the stubble on his jaw tickles my face.

"Haven't shaved in a while have you?"

"Does it bother you?"

"No, just tickles." I wrap my arms around his neck and smile up at him. "Guess what."

"What?"

"You were wrong."

"About what?" Dirk pulls away from me confused.

"About the director. He's not terrible. He thinks I'll become a director one day. I have to admit he's kinda weird, and has lots of tests, but their kind of what I'm going to have to put up with when I'm directing."

"You just love telling me when I'm wrong don't you?" Dirk smiles softly when I nod and kisses my forehead. "I ordered room service, but I wasn't sure when you'd be here so it won't be for another half hour."

"That's fine. So what'd you do all day?"

"Nothing much. I wandered around a little bit, but there's not as much to do as I thought there would be."

"Hmm sounds boring." I yawn and Dirk frowns. "What?"

"You seem pretty tired. What did you do today?"

"Well mostly I watched a lot of scenes, but after I helped with the budget. I mean it was already figured out, but I guess it got cut more and Andrew need some help with it. I helped a little bit, but he still had seven thousand to cut down." Dirk whistles.

"That's a lot."

"Not compared to the total. It's in the millions. Hey, how is that a lot to you? Don't you make a lot?"

"Yeah but it goes quickly, and I'd imagine it's hard to cut that much out without altering the movie too much."

"Yeah. I mean my idea was to turn two scenes into places that are already there instead of building a set. That cuts down the cost a lot, but I didn't see much room for anything else besides material cost. If you cut that down it has to be on every set that hasn't been built yet. The quality will decline quickly and it might not even be possible to take out seven thousand worth of material cost."

"Well it's not your job to worry about it, so don't." Dirk leads me toward the couch.

"Yeah, but hopefully one day it will be. I want to be prepared for it. So, I need to learn this kind of stuff, but I'd rather think through it instead of being told."

"Mhmm." Dirk turns on the Tv and I pull my feet up onto the couch and rest my head on his shoulder. He drops his arm around me and squeezes me a little closer. I yawn again as Dirk finally settles on a TV channel. After a little while there's a knock at the door. Dirk gets it and brings back food. Which I happily eat. After that I stand up and stretch.

"I'm going to shower."

"Alright." I leave Dirk to clean up while I shower. I'm so tired I almost fall asleep standing up. I get a chill once I turn the water off though, and that's the only thing keeping me awake. I head into my room and put on clothes the curl up under the covers. After a few minutes of me fighting sleep Dirk finally comes in. "That was a quick shower."

"Sleepy."

"I can see that." Dirk smiles and gets under the covers with me. He wraps his arms around me and I sink into his warmth. "I'm leaving tomorrow."
