True to his word Dirk sits me down to talk after breakfast. It seems like he didn't get much sleep last night because he already posted on three websites to earn money. Along with that he also wrote down a financial plan and found a facility that would take both of them. Dirk explains everything to me and makes it all seem really simple. "When did you have the time to do this all?"

"Last night while I was waiting for you to come home."

"You must be exhausted."

"I am."

"Then let's go to sleep." I grab Dirk's hand and tug him toward his room. He lets me drag him the entire way without protest.

"I have to wake up in a few hours Dave."

"That's fine, I'll wake up with you." Dirk sighs, nods, and wraps his arms around me.

"I have a gig later tonight too."

"Can I go?"

"I want you to, but no drinking."

"What?"

"I'm serious about this. Look I don't trust the area we're going to be in, and if you go I don't want to have that extra worry. It might be better for you not to go at all."

"I want to go, and I won't drink. But, if this place is so untrustworthy why even book a gig there?"

"It pays great. Actually, it pays better than great."

"How much?"

"Don't worry about it." Dirk nuzzles his face into my hair and falls asleep. I'm left wondering about how much money he's making, and where we're going. However, it doesn't keep me up for long. When I'm wrapped so tightly in Dirk's arms after an argument I can't find it in myself to be bothered by what he's not telling me. I'll worry about it when it's important.

A few hours later I feel Dirk getting off the bed. It wakes me up and I reach out and snag his wrist. He jumps a little startled before turning around to look at me. "I have to go to the bathroom."

"No."

"But-"

"No."

"Dave."

"No."

"Let go."

"No." Dirk sighs and moves to the edge of the bed. He lowers himself until we're eye to eye.

"Why can't I leave?"

"Because I said so."

"Your such a brat."

"I know." Dirk pulls on his wrist trying to get free, but I just grab a hold of that arm to.

"Come on Dave."

"Ask nicely if your allowed to leave my presence."

"Fine. Princess Dave am I allowed to leave your presence."

"I'm not a princess ."

"I'm sorry, queen Dave." I snort a laugh and let Dirk go.

"You would be the queen."

"Totally." Dirk walks out of his room and leaves his door open a crack so I know he'll be back soon. In a few minutes Dirk is back and cuddling up behind me. I turn over to face him and I catch him yawning.

"You didn't have to stay up for me."

"I was worried about you. You don't always make the best decisions when your upset."
