If you check the tags you'll see Hal has been added. Just so you know he's in this chapter, but really out of character. This is done for a reason you will understand later.

"What was that about?" Dirk asks. I look over my shoulder and see him yawning with a hand going through his hair. I don't think he heard my conversation.

"Remember the director I worked with?"

"Yeah."

"He wanted me to come work with him again. I told him I couldn't because of, well you know." I gesture down to my leg. "And besides that he told me about the movie I helped him with is premiering in October. Oh, and he is going to come out here and see if his kidney is a match." Dirk blinks a few times surprised.

"He'll do that for you?"

"Yeah. He said something about bringing the crew too, but I don't know." There's a look on Dirk's face that I don't quite understand. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Dirk turns around and I chase after him.

"Dirk don't make me beat you up." Dirk snorts.

"Like you ever could." I grab Dirk's arm and step in front of him.

"Please tell me what's wrong."

"Nothing."

"You're lying. Dirk I know you, you can't lie to me. Well, you can't lie to me always." He sighs softly and looks away from me.

"You've got so many damn friends, and you just know so many people. I'm worried that I'm not going to be enough. Or even if I am, there's still so many people pinning after you that maybe someone will find out."

"Dirk I don't know how many times I have to say this, but I don't want anyone else. I never will either. And I've told you before that I'd rather have you than make movies. And yeah I know you said you don't want that, but I don't care it's true."

"Dave." He draws my name out and I smile at him.

"There's no reason for that. Now then, let's make breakfast."

"Considering we barely could yesterday, what makes you think we'll be able to today."

"Huh, well how about we go out?"

"I thought you wanted to save money to move?"

"Shit. Left over pizza then I guess."

"Ok. Pick out something to watch, I'll heat it up."

"Alright." I head to the futon and flick through channels as Dirk prepares food. I prop my broken leg up on the table. It's starting to hurt a little bit, but I wouldn't dare tell Dirk. I wouldn't want him to try and give me more medicine. I'm actually glad that I can feel it too. It's been a while since I've been aware of my broken leg.

I've just found a movie to watch when Dirk is coming in with pizza. He hands me my slices and plops down next to me. "Your leg isn't hurting you is it?"

"No, just felt like propping my feet up."

"Oh ok." Dirk leans back into the couch and eats his slices in silence watching the movie with me. Once we're done he takes the plates and sets them on the coffee table. Then he pulls me toward him and I sit in between his legs. He runs his fingers through my hair and I lean back against him.

"This is nice."

"Yes it is."

"Let's not move all day."

"I have to in about a hour."

"Why?"

"Gig."

"Aw, why? Do you have to?"
