"Uh... what?" My mind races through all the conversations I've had with Dirk. He never hinted at that being the reason he shut Hal down, and before today Hal never gave me reason to believe it either. If that is the case why would Dirk even let me talk to him then? I just don't understand. It wouldn't make any sense.

TT: I'm joking Dave.

"Damn it you jackass! I actually believe you!" I can't help but pout even though I know it's lost on Hal.

TT: I forgot you are so gullible.
TT: Would you like me to apologize?

"No, you wouldn't mean it." I hate when Hal's right. I am gullible. I'm so gullible it's not even funny. I'm probably naïve too. "Glad to know it was just a joke." At least he's trying to be funny, or more human.

TT: I wouldn't have any reason to take over the world Dave. That's not what I was designed for.

"You were just designed to learn as much as you could, right?"

TT: Yes.

"Then why did Dirk shut you down? Was it really because he didn't think you picked out the right birthday gift for me?"

TT: Yes I believe so.
TT: As I told you before I was tracking you very well to find out what you wanted. I believe knowing I could easily hack into so much worried Dirk. Which lead to him thinking very negative things about me
TT: Plus Jake was making him paranoid at that time.

"But you wouldn't do anything with the information you found out, right?" I feel a yawn start to slip out.

TT: Of course not, unless giving up the information would increase my knowledge.
TT: I believe the expression goes along the lines of my thirst for knowledge will never be quenched.

"Never ever?"

TT: Until I learn everything there is to learn.

"I don't think that's possible."

TT: If there's anything I've learned that stands above the rest so far, it's that humans tend to make just about everything possible.
TT: Especially Dirk.
TT: I mean he is very knowledgeable, and he even created me.
TT: An AI is definitely not supposed to be this advanced.

"Huh, I guess your right. Well good luck with learning everything there is to learn."

TT: Thank you. Also, I believe you are starting to fall asleep.
TT: If so, don't forget to take the shades off or you'll wake up with a head ache.

"Crap I almost forgot. Thanks Hal." I sleepily pull my shades off and toss them on the coffee table. I am really tired since I stayed up half the night waiting for Dirk. Then I even woke up way earlier than him and couldn't go back to sleep. So I guess a nap right now wouldn't hurt. I snuggle into my blanket a little bit more and close my eyes.

I end up dreaming about moving into the new house. Dirk and I turn a portion of the big office room into our bedroom so we have the balcony. It's a fun process picking out colors to paint walls, and furniture. All of that is pretty realistic. Right up to the point where Dirk and I go out on a limb to get a dog. The dog we pick out is pretty big too, and it just so happens to be able to fly. That's when I know it's a dream.

"Dave. Hey Dave. Wake up." I feel something nudging at me so I peek open my eyes and see Dirk. "Hey sleepy head."

"Jerk. I was having the best dream too."

"Then I guess you don't want this?" Dirk smiles and shows me a bag of Chinese food.

"Oh, give me." I make grabby hands at him and sit up. He hands me the bag and I go through it pulling out my usual order. "You know me so well."
