Josh POV
I wake up early in the morning to feel my phone buzzing. I look at it and its a text from my Momma.
JOSH, SHE HAS HAD A SETBACK. THE DOCTORS ARE GIVING HER NEW MEDS TO TRY AND HELP HER SYSTEM OUT. GOD IS LOOKING AFTER HER. I WILL SEE YOU IN THE MORNING. LOVE YOU JOSHUA.
I close my eyes. Its 6:47 am. I look back at Colleen sleeping peacefully. I pick her up carefully as I cry quietly. I lift up the covers and lay her back down. Her eyes flutter open. She grabs my face. "Whats happening? Why are you crying Josh?" she asks sleepily. "She wasn't doing well but they put her on new meds.My momma texted me" I say."Sleep Colleen" I add. "No, I want you to come to bed with me" she says. "I can't sleep" I say as I lay beside her. "We will talk babe" she says. I curl the covers over us and I hug her. I start to cry. "How could he do this to my baby sister?" I ask. "Josh they broke up. She struggled so much it seems. We don't know what happens behind closed doors" she says. "He told her she wasn't pretty enough, or good enough! How could he do that? Why didn't I do anything to help her? She is beautiful" I cry. Colleen squeezes me tight. "Joshua, it's her own thoughts. Thoughts we can't control or help with. You tried to talk to her remember?" She says. I nod. "Why didn't she listen? " I ask. "Thats a question only she can answer" Colleen says. I lay there thinking about her wondering if I did everything possible. Then my mind goes to Colleen and her eating disorder. "Babe do I tell you enough how beautiful you are?" I ask . She starts to cry knowing exactly what I am getting at. "I didn't struggle because of a lack of love from you Joshua. Don't ever think that" she says. "Making sure" I say. "Why do you struggle then babe?" I ask curiously as I rub her back. She sighs. "So many boys have left me telling me I wasn't pretty enough or good enough and it has stuck with me" she says. I sob listening to her pain. "Colleen, all of that led you to me. I am your soul mate and you are mine" I say. "You are perfect to look at inside and out and don't let anyone tell you different ok?" I say kissing her lips in the dark. "I love you babe" she says as she kisses me back passionately. Her hands are everywhere as are mine. "Josh I don't want to wait anymore" she says as she continues until before we know it I am laying on top of her totally naked. I can see the whites of her eyes glow from the faint light coming through the curtains edges. "Are you sure baby?" I say. "Remember I will love you more each day, always" I say as I stare at her. She smiles and rubs my cheek. "Joshua, I need you so bad" she says. I smile and we begin making love like no other time. Our emotions were heightened and our senses were going nuts. My beautiful wife in my arms is the most important thing in my life. Tonight will prove that. Hopefully tonight we will create life together.
