Josh POV
"Colleen!" I scream as she lays in my arms. I hear the hospital doors open behind me. "What happened sir?" A doctor asks as nurses push a stretcher out to us. "My wife is bleeding from somewhere and her regular doctor admitted her but she collapsed after holding her head. She is 15 weeks pregnant" I cry. He nods as they lift her onto the stretcher. " Is her name Colleen Evans?" He asks as we run her in. "Yes" I say. "I was called by her doctor and was waiting for you. I am a neurologist" he says. I nod. "I will come out to you" he says rushing her in as I release her hand. I drop to the ground and hold my own head. I text Rachel and tell her I am here and to text the family. I am crumbling hard.
The whole family comes and waits with me. I am tired of being in a hospital. "Mr Evans" the doctor who took her two hours earlier comes out to see me. I stand and nod. "We have located the bleed. It is in her head. We see this type of mild issue with chemo patients but it usually clears up on its own. However because of her head injury that is in her charts we think it reopened" he says. "What do we do?" I ask. "We give her meds to slow down the bleed because of the pregnancy and she rests constantly" he says. I nod. " She will need surgery if it continues after the baby is born" he adds as we walk down the hall. He opens the door and ushers me in as Colleen opens her eyes looking at me. I start to cry. I am so stressed because of her. "They told me already" she whispers grabbing my hand. I sit down in front of her and smile. "This can be fixed babe. I wish I was there when Brian attacked you and this might have never happened" I say crying. "Josh, we will be fine. I will be home everyday for the next 6 months. You should be happy" she says trying to make me laugh. I nod as I wipe my face. "You're right babe. I am happy about that" I say as I kiss her lips.
The next few weeks she sleeps alot and relaxes with me. I enjoy every minute of that part. Today we are going for a walk around the neighborhood. I hold her hand as she eats a popsicle and we walk up to a bench. I lower her down and we just sit there in silence. It was one of my favourite moments to be with her. I turn around and see her enjoying her popsicle like a little kid. "You are so cute" I whisper cuddling her. She giggles and puts her feet up on the bench snuggling me back. "Love you Josh" she says holding onto my leg. I kiss her head as we sit again in silence. This is all I ever wanted.
