Colleen POV
They have me prepped in the OR. Joshua is right beside me in full scrubs with a mask over his face. I am half out of it but watch the nurses and doctors scatter around. I look at Joshua and he looks panicked. "Babe, I know this isn't what you expected" I say to him. Anything out of the ordinary Joshua doesn't handle well. He needs to be prepared for it. He smiles under his mask. "Just want you and our baby safe and sound" he says sweetly. "Colleen can you feel that?" The doctor asks me over the drape in front of me. "I don't feel anything" I say. I watch Josh as he watches the doctors. "Ok we are in" I hear the doctor say a few minutes later. Joshua squeezes my hand and brings it to his mask to kiss my fingers. "Ok need suction. Clamp that please" I hear the doctor says. I hear tools hitting the floor as I feel tugging but no pain. "Gonna feel some pulling" the doctor says. I nod and feel it until I feel it no more. "Congrats you have a baby girl!" the doctor says. I start to cry and look at Josh and he is sobbing too. They hold her above me quickly and she is stunning. "Oh baby" Josh says as nurses smile behind him watching his reaction. He leans in and kisses me on my cheek as his hand rubs my cheek and he stares into my eyes. "Colleen thank you sweetheart" he says. I smile and pucker up for a kiss and he again kisses me through the mask. "Clamp it!" I hear a doctor semi yell and Josh sits straight up. He is squeezing my hand watching the doctors do something I cannot see. "Now! Right there!" I hear him say. "Tired" I mutter. "Colleen!!!" Josh says. I slightly turn my head towards him and smile as I close my eyes listening to him sob.
