Colleen POV
I feel terrible for Josh. He seems so sad. He sits with me everyday but I don't remember him. "Josh, go home and look after Juliana" I say as he sits beside me. "No Colleen. Your Mom and sister are doing that" he says. "Its uncomfortable for me. I don't know you or know us" I say. His face goes pale and he starts to cry. "Josh I'm sorry" I say grabbing him. "You did remember but then you forgot me. You will come back to me" he says determined. "Maybe Josh but you staring at me and us making mild conversation isn't helping" I reply. He starts to stand up and really sob. I felt terrible. He starts to walk away. "Josh can you send my mom here please?" I ask. He nods and leaves the room. It is breaking my heart.
A few hours later my Mom comes in and sits down beside me. "Hey sweetheart... How are you?" She asks. "I broke Josh. Its all I can think about. Is he a mess?" I ask watching her face. "He is fine Colleen" she says. Instant lie. "You are lying" I say watching her again. She smiles and looks down. "He is adjusting" she says. I nod. "Mom I can't have him staring at me all day when I don't remember him. Stressing me out" I say. She nods. "When I get out of here I would love to come home to our house" I say. "My house? Your childhood house?" She asks. I nod. She grabs my hands. "Colleen, Josh is a wonderful man. Going home with him might trigger your memory" she says. "Mom I have made my decision" I say. "What about Juliana?" She asks. "I need time away Mom. Let Josh figure it out" I say tearing up. "Colleen we are telling you the truth about Josh and Juliana" she says. "I know" I say. "I just need this" I reply.
My Mom drives me to Josh and my house to pick up some clothes after I got discharged. She pulls up and I stare at the house in awe. "You are shitting me! I live here?" I say looking at this beautiful house. "You and Josh worked very hard for it" she says squeezing my hand. I slide out of the car and Josh steps outside the front door with Juliana in his arms. "Hi honey" he says tearfully. I haven't seen him in days since I told him to leave the hospital. "Hi" I say as I walk past him and through the front door. My sister is inside and hugs me. "Welcome home" she says. "Can you show me where my room is?" I ask her. She nods as Josh watches me while my Mom rubbing his back. He is crying. I grab my sisters hand and we walk back into my room. I stand in the doorway and stop. I remember.
