you can't stop me

Annie's POV

Mom then put down the phone and gave me a shocked look,
"Annie don't you see? I'm trying to help you have a better life by improving your grades in school, Brennan can't be your only priority".

"I can see where your coming from mom, but I don't want to see a life without Brennan".  I walked back up to my room and closed the door.

"What am I supposed to do? I mean my mom has a point but I love Brennan".

I decided to take a little nap so I could think about it a little.

*two and a half hours later*

I woke up to my phone going off from text notifications from Brennan,
Brennan: Is it true?
Brennan: Your mom doesn't want us to be together?
Brennan: Why?
Brennan: I would never hurt you or do anything bad to you, I love you with all my heart. I don't understand.
Brennan: Please text me or call me when you see this
Brennan: I love you

"What? how did he find out?". I thought to myself.

I went downstairs and peeked over the railing and I saw Hayley sitting on the island doing her homework and Dad rearranging the couches again.

"Where's mom?". I asked while walking to dad.

"She's outside feeding the dogs".

I walked to the outdoor balcony,
"You told Ms Jill?". I asked as I opened the door.

"Who told you?".

"Brennan did".

"Yeah, I called her. Don't you get it Annie I'm trying to help you".

"Trying to help me? How is pushing away my boyfriend, the one person that helped me out through everything, the only person that made sure I was happy and he cares about me...But most importantly, He loves me for who I am, he doesn't try to change me. He gets me like no one else does".

Dad then walked behind me,
"What's going on?".

I looked at mom and she had a surprised look on her face. I walked passed dad and went up to my room.

Brennan's POV
I was eating dinner with everyone and I couldn't think about anything else but Annie. Mom looked at me with a reassuring smile but I just faked a smile and continued to stir the food around my plate.

"Brennan, would you like to be excused from dinner?". Mom asked

I nodded my head and stood up then walked to my room.

I looked on my phone and I saw a text from Annie,
Annie: Text me when you see this, I love you.

A smile lit up my face as I texted her back,

Brennan: Hi princess
Annie: Hi Brennan
Brennan: Are you okay?
Annie: No...not at all
Brennan: I'm sorry this is all happening...
Annie: It's fine...I'm just so confused with everything right now. I don't know what to do.
Brennan: Maybe you should just talk to her about it, You can reason with her that you can try and bring up your grades with us still being together.
Annie: You have a point there, maybe I will before I go to school.
Brennan: I'm smart ain't I?
Annie: You sure are😘
Brennan: I can't wait to see you tomorrow, feels like it's been forever since I've seen you.
Annie: It feels like seconds when I'm with you but then when I'm not with you it feels like years since I've seen you.
Brennan: My thoughts exactly. I have to go to bed, I'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight, I love you beautiful.
Annie: Goodnight Brennan, I love you. I can't wait to see you tomorrow. Thanks for everything you've done for me, I'm the luckiest person ever to have someone like you in my life😊❤️
