Chapter 42: Preparation

"Alright guys, the league is tomorrow. Today is only practicing, no side tracking. Got it?" said Hikaru strictly.

Sentoki and Kimyona nodded. Sentoki walked over to behind a building where there was a Pokemon battlefield. Kimyona went another direction to train.

Sentoki's Training

Sentoki let everyone out and they gathered around in front of him. "Alright team. I'm gonna have to stop calling you by your nicknames."

They looked at each other, asking why.

"It'll be easier to say rather than your nicknames because if something happens fast, I'm gonna have to say something fast." The Pokemon sighed then they nodded their heads. "Now, let's start our training."

They spread out throughout the field, partnering up and practicing their attacks. It was Blastoise and Electivire, Sceptile and Emboar, and Dragonair and Glaceon. He walked over to Blastoise and Electivire who were practicing Protect. Blastoise was defending while Electivire was trying to penetrate the barrier. Sceptile was practicing his speed on Emboar who was defending. Glaceon was trying to hit Dragonair with a combination of ice attacks while Dragonair was dodging his way towards Glaceon.

After about ten minutes of that, they switched partners. It was now Blastoise and Emboar, Electivire and Glaceon, and Dragonair and Sceptile. Now, Emboar tried to land critical hits and Sceptile was trying to do the same. Sentoki was focusing on Electivire and Glaceon. They stood about 15 feet away from each other. Electivire was in horse riding stance, his hands ready to defend.

Sentoki wanted to develop, improve, and perfect a move Electivire used a while back.

"Sceptile! Come here a sec!" shouted Sentoki over the noises. Sceptile ran over to them.

"Use Solar Beam on Electivire!"

Yellow particles were coming to Sceptile's back. It opened its mouth and opened fire. Right before it made impact, Electivire stepped back with his right foot and stuck his arms out. He was able to stop the beam but it was getting too strong. It began to get brighter and brighter in his hands. Electivire shut its eyes and it shot back and landed with a crash. Electivire groaned and got to its feet. Blastoise, Emboar, Glaceon, and Dragonair gathered around to watch.

"Hmm. Sceptile. Do it again but a little bit less powerful. You okay Electivire?" asked Sentoki.

Electivire nodded and got into horse riding stance. The Solar Beam came at Electivire. Again, he stepped back with his right foot and put his arms out. The beam was stopped again. Electivire started to shake and began to close his hands. The beam was getting smaller. Finally, it stopped as the solar beam went into his arms. It glowed greenish-yellowish before it disappeared. Electivire brought his hands near his head as his arms started to glow again. Then, he stomped his right foot and through his arms in front of him. The Solar Beam blasted out of his arms quickly at Sceptile. Sceptile's eyes grew and the attack blasted him square in the chest. Sceptile flipped in the air and landed on his stomach.

The Pokemon started to cheer and so did Sceptile when it got back up. They then resumed their training with Sentoki focusing on their weaknesses and strengths.

Kimyona's Training

"Alright you guys! Time to work on some training!" smiled Kimyona with delight. The Pokemon responded happily with smiles on their faces as well. "We're gonna form a circle and do one-on-one battles, understand?" The Pokemon nodded and moved back to form a large circle.

Kimyona looked at each of them, waiting to see who wants to fight first. Venusaur entered the circle and so did Pidgeot.

"Wonderful! May the match...."

Venusaur and Pidgeot took their positions.

"....Begin!"

Venusaur stood his ground while Pidgeot immediately took to the skies. Pidgeot was going to try to do some hit and runs. Pidgeot used Gust while Venusaur defended itself . As soon as the attack was done, Pidgeot dove in with a Quick Attack. The attack hit Venusaur perfectly but when Pidgeot turned its back, Venusaur grabbed it with its vines. Then, Venusaur pulled Pidgeot in and slammed it onto the ground. Pidgeot quickly took off into the air and landed a Wing Attack while doing so. However, Pidgeot made the same mistake and turned its back again. Venusaur came back with a Leech Seed. Pidgeot's health started getting sucked out! As it was falling, Venusaur hit it multiple times with Razor Leaf, making Pidgeot slam onto the ground.

Kimyona ran to Pidgeot to see if it was okay. Meanwhile, Venusaur stepped back into the circle. From around the corner of a building, Hikaru came out. She approached Kimyona and asked if she could watch. Kimyona agreed and Hikaru went ahead and healed Pidgeot with some potions she bought.

Kimyona's training strategy was to have each of the Pokemon go one-on-one while the others watch so they can see each other's strengths and weaknesses. Once all the Pokemon faced each other, they did a tag team then finally a one-on-one training with their master.

It was dusk. Hikaru was sitting in the diner, waiting for Sentoki and Kimyona. After a few minutes of waiting, Kimyona finally showed up. "Where's Sentoki?" asked Hikaru.

"I don't know, probably still training?" said Kimyona as she sat down with Hikaru. Finally, he showed up.

"Where have you been?" asked the impatient Kimyona.

"I was out talking to friends," he replied calmly.

"Hurry up and eat," commanded Hikaru.

After they ate, they went back to the hotel. Once they entered the lobby, Sentoki told them he has to go take care of something. Kimyona shrugged it off while Hikaru thought something was suspicious. She went ahead and told him to go off while they go to bed. Once Kimyona fell asleep, Hikaru snuck out and investigated. She followed Sentoki's tracks and she heard some chatter from an alley. She crept up to the side and began to listen.

"Okay dude. I'll tell you this."

It was Subarashi.

"Their leader doesn't really talk much. Mostly his kids do the work for him," continued Subarashi.

"Yuki, Rida, and Sumato are his kids?" asked Sentoki.

"Yes. Not much is known about the leader but we have to infer that he is either really powerful or really weak."

"True," replied Hikaru.

They talked more before Subarashi left. As soon as Hikaru heard footsteps coming towards her, she silently ran back to the hotel and snuck into the room. She jumped into the bed and pretended to be asleep. Finally, Sentoki showed up. Kimyona was fast asleep while Hikaru had her back turned but with her eyes open. She heard him say something from under his breathe.

"I got you Ultron Force. I got you."
