Chapter 27: Fuschia Gym and the Zoo

"Man, I'm exhausted from that battle on the Cycling Road yesterday," Hikaru said while placing her hands on the back of her head.

"I still feel kinda bad for throwing Jake and his Charizard off the bridge," Sentoki said, scratching the back of his neck.

"It had to be done, Sentoki. Besides, you gotta move on. You got a gym battle today," Kimyona comforted him by patting him on the back.

Sentoki got up and left his satchel in their room in the Pokemon Center. They left and headed to the gym. They were greeted with a ninja star thrown at them. It had barely hit Sentoki but he dodged it.

"What the hell was that about?" He shouted.

"You dodged my attack. You have good reflexes. I'll award you with a gym battle," A girl dressed like a ninja jump from the ceiling and gracefully landed on the floor in front of them.

"Are you the gym leader?" asked Hikaru.

"Yes I am. My name is Janine"

"Hmm...what happened to Koga?" Kimyona asked.

"He's part of the Elite 4 now."

"Now that that's settled let's get this battle started." Sentoki said eagerly as he stepped into the battle box.

Sentoki took out Rambo and asked "How does a one on one battle sound?"

"Fine by me."

Janine sent out Arbok.

Arbok attacked with Poison Sting. Rambo used Rapid Spin and deflected the attack. Rambo then used Skull Bash and smashed Arbok in the stomach. Arbok attacked with Crunch and was able to grab Rambo. Rambo used Rapid Spin and Water Gun. The attack made water spray everywhere and into Arbok's mouth. Rambo used Skull Bash once more and hit the place where the water was located. Arbok instantly threw the water up and started to choke. Rambo used Ice Beam and froze it. Since Arbok couldn't move, Rambo used Water Pulse to destroy the ice. Arbok used Gunk Shot but Rambo deflected it with Rapid Spin. Arbok had poisoned itself! Rambo finished with Skull Bash and Sentoki obtained the Soul Badge.

He switched places with Kimyona. Janine's new Pokemon was Nidoking so Kimyona used Ivysaur. Nidoking attacked with a Megahorn attack. Ivysaur used Vine Whip and grabbed Nidoking's horn. Nidoking was then pulled toward Ivysaur. Ivysaur then used Tackle. The attack did some damage but it wasn't enough to defeat Nidoking. Nidoking attacked with Peck. Ivysaur dodged and used Razor Leaf.

"Super Effective!" yelled Sentoki.

Ivysaur attacked with Sleep Powder. Nidoking's eyes slowly began to close as it fell over. Ivysaur began to absorb solar power so it could perform a Solar Beam. The attack was perfect. It was so powerful, it woke up Nidoking. By the time Nidoking was wide awake, it has fainted.

"Nice one. Here's your Soul Badge."

Kimyona placed it in her badge case and they left the gym.

"Well, it's still early. Where to next?" asked Sentoki as he put his hands behind his head.

"Well we can go to the zoo," said Hikaru as she looked at the map.

"Then the zoo it is," said Kimyona.

They made their way to the zoo. Surprisingly, admission was free for them since Officer Jenny told the zoo that they got rid of the Fire Bikers. They saw Lapras, Voltorb, Chansey, and many other Pokemon. However, the main attraction is their Dragonite. Sentoki took out Dratini.

"You see that?" Sentoki said, pointing at the Dragonite.

Dratini peered through the window.

"You're gonna become one of them later on."
