Chapter 22: Celadon Fire

"Well, we're here."

"Celadon City. The gym leader here is Erika. She uses Grass types," said Kimyona.

"Perfect. I can use Berserk and maybe Grovyle!"

"Hey, what's that over there?" asked Hikaru as she pointed out in the distance.

There was an orange glow coming from the middle of Celadon City.

"Could it be?" asked Kimyona.

"Let's go check it out!" said Sentoki as he ran off.

They ran through the streets of Celadon City and they finally stopped at the gym.

"Oh no.." said Kimyona.

Fire was coming out of the building. Grass Pokemon were fleeing and the trees and grass were burning.

"We gotta help!" said Hikaru.

From the side of the gym, a lady in a kimono came out and said," Please! We appreciate all the help we can!"

Rambo and Seel were taken out, each dousing the flames with Water Gun.

"It's not working! The fire's too strong!"

Sentoki caught something with the corner of his left eye. He saw 3 gray figures running away.

"Is that-?" he was cut off.

"Sentoki! There's no time for that!" yelled Kimyona.

"Hold on! Rambo stay here!" Sentoki ran off.

He took out Grovyle who ran ahead of Sentoki. Soon, Sentoki caught up and found Grovyle standing on one of them.

"Well, well, well. Sentoki, we meet again."

"Rida."

"What do you want?"

"Did you set fire to the gym?!"

"Why do you care? It's not your gym!"

Sentoki dropped down on one knee and punched Rida across the face.

"Why did you do it?!"

"That's a question you can answer."

He shot up, knocking Grovyle over. He began to sprint the way his sisters went. Grovyle used Bullet Seed and nearly hit Rida in the back but suddenly Dewott came out and blocked it with Razor Shell.

"You'll have your chance, Grovyle."

They ran back to the gym and the fire was beginning to settle out.

"Help!" yelled someone from inside.

"Wait, where's Hikaru?!"

Sentoki, with Rambo, ran inside to save whoever was trapped. Rambo kept using Water Gun to make sure the fire doesn't hit his master. Finally, Sentoki discovered it was Hikaru.

"Hikaru! What the hell are you doing in here?!" yelled the aggravated Sentoki.

"There's a rampaging Victreebel! I got this! Go!"

Sentoki and Rambo ran back out, dousing the flames.

"YAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"

"Here it comes!" said Hikaru.

The Victreebel shot out from a pile of debris.

"Easy! Calm down!" yelled Hikaru as she put her hands up.

The Victreebel was scared of the fire.

"Grass types are weak against fire! Just stick with me. I'll get you out of this!" yelled Hikaru.

The Victreebel couldn't stand it anymore. It thought Hikaru as an enemy. He tried to end her with a Razor Leaf. Suddenly, Charmeleon jumped out and burned the leaves. "Charmeleon! Char!"

"You're saying that in order to calm it down from the fire, we need to use fire?"

Charmeleon nodded.

"Well if it's the only way, let's do it!" Hikaru said as she held her fists up. "Charmeleon, use Flamethrower!" Charmeleon began shooting flames out of his mouth. The flames weren't hitting the Victreebel but instead were guiding it. They were guiding it outside the gym.

Charmeleon leaped at Victreebel with a Scratch attack but Victreebel dodged it and grabbed Charmeleon's arm with its vines. Charmeleon tried to use Flamethrower but Victreebel shut its mouth with its other vine. Victreebel threw it and used Razor Leaf, hitting her in the back and making her fall. Charmeleon stood up slowly, injured from the impact she made with the ground.

"Charrrr..."

Charmeleon, injured, tried using Dragon Pulse on Victreebel. The attack was successful but Victreebel attacked with Leaf Tornado. Charmeleon fell over once again.

"Charmeleon! Stop!"

Charmeleon tried using Fire Blast, but he missed badly. Victreebel used Leaf Storm, badly injuring Charmeleon and shooting it up in the air. Victreebel began to suck solar power. A beam went into the sky. A faint voice of Charmeleon could be heard. There was a flash.

"No....." said Hikaru as she fell to her knees. There was a roar from the sky. Hikaru looked up and saw Victreebel was gone. She then saw Victreebel fall from the sky, smashing itself to the ground. Something landed on it and began to burn its face with Flamethrower.

"Is that?"

"RAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"

"Charizard! You evolved!" yelled Hikaru as she hugged Charizard.

Finally, the fire was out. Burnt trees were everywhere. The grass was burnt and there were no more grass Pokemon. They had all fled to the wilderness.

"Thank you so much!" said Erika.

"Sure," said Kimyona.

Charizard walked over to them with Hikaru riding on her back.

"So I see Charmeleon evolved, eh?" said Sentoki.

"Yup."

"You guys can come back in two days. When the day comes, you guys can have the honor of being the first trainers of the day."

"Sure! Thanks, Erika!"

"Of course! You helped. Anyway, tomorrow you can maybe visit the Game Corner or the Department Store. You guys seem tired. Go shopping, have fun, unwind! Take a break from all this Pokemon shenanigans!"

"Alright. See ya in two days!"

The trio left and their body weights at a seafood buffet. They slept at the Pokemon Center, ready to shop their butts off in the Department Store.
