Chapter 37: Everstones and Evolution

Sentoki and Kimyona waited anxiously in the Pokemon Center for Blue. Last night when Hikaru and Blue were calling Professor Oak, he told them that he was able to evolve Dinamika and Machoke because of a new trading machine. Sentoki and Kimyona nearly screamed with joy when Hikaru informed them of this news. They could barely sleep with excitement of knowing that their Pokemon were going to be evolved. Finally, Blue went through the automatic doors and walked over to them.

"Blue, it's about time you got here," Hikaru said rolling her eyes and pointing, "These two would nonstop talk about their Pokemon evolving."

"You're just jealous that Professor Oak is evolving our Pokemon," Sentoki snubbed.

"Oh yeah, totally," Hikaru said sarcastically. 'Oh the irony,' She thought.

"So we just use our Pokeballs right?" Kimyona asked Blue while Hikaru and Sentoki were bickering.

"That's right," He gestured over to the mechanism being installed before their eyes, "You guys place your Pokeballs onto the little plate there and push that button."

"Sounds simple enough." Kimyona said. She called Sentoki over and explained to him. While they did that, Blue slipped a pouch of Everstones into Hikaru's hand. She nodded her head at him as a thanks. She then noticed to depressed figures by the trading machine.

"Um, what's up with you two?" She asked a disappointed Sentoki and Kimyona.

"The machine..." Kimyona whispered, almost inaudible.

"The machine...?" Hikaru and Blue said, leaning in so they could hear better.

"The machine..." She repeated.

"WON'T BE DONE UNTIL THIS EVENING!" Sentoki shouted, finishing her sentence.

"Oi Sentoki! There's no need for yelling!" Hikaru shouted back.

"How can I not yell?! I've been waiting for Dinamika to evolve since forever and now I have to wait more! Dammit!" Sentoki started going off on a tangent while Kimyona sulked in a corner. Hikaru simply facepalmed.

"If it's like this then why don't we go to the gym?" Blue suggested.

"Listen Blue, I don't know if you remember this but we already battled you and won. We've got badges to prove it." Sentoki answered, snapping out of his raging.

"I haven't battled all of you." He grinned smugly while pointing at Hikaru. " Hikaru, I challenge you to a gym battle."

"WHAT?!" The trio screamed in unison.

"How the hell did it get to this?" Hikaru asked Pichu while stepping into the challenger's spot in the Viridian Gym, "This was not part of the plan."

"Pipichu." It said to encourage her. She sighed in response.

"What is going on here?" Kimyona asked Sentoki. Neither of them had any reason why Blue would challenge Hikaru, let alone her accepting it.

"I don't know but it's interesting. Plus I'd rather watch Hikaru battle than go around waiting for that thing to be ready." Sentoki said obviously amused by the turn of events, "Look it's starting."

"This is a full on gym battle. Gym leader Blue against Challenger Hikaru." The referee said.

"Um, I didn't challenge Blue," Hikaru chimed in. The referee ignored her.

"BEGIN!"

"Before we start," Blue said, "I want your Charizard to sit this battle out."

"Why?" Hikaru said.
