Chapter 9: Pewter Gym

"Pewter City," said Kimyona.

"Yup, we're here," said Sentoki.

They leisurely walked around Pewter City for a few minutes, then they trained with their Pokemon. Finally, they went to the gym.

"Ready, Sentoki?"

"Ready if you are."

As they were about to enter, they heard footsteps approaching them from behind.

"Wait!" yelled someone from behind. It was a girl around their age. She had a red ribbon in her black hair and was wearing a white button down shirt and burgundy shorts with short black leggings. She also had a Charmander by her side and a Pichu sitting on her head.

"Can I help you?" asked Sentoki.

"I've been looking for you Sentoki," said the girl, panting for air.

"Um, who are you?" Sentoki asked nervously.

"The name's Hikaru! I've been looking for you since I left Pallet Town," said Hikaru.

"And why?"

"Professor Oak told me about you and what happened to the lab. Him and Blue said I should accompany you on your journey because you have a 'pretty dangerous quest.'"

"Indeed I do."

"Can I tag along?"

"As long as you can keep up."

Hikaru looked at Kimyona.

"You must be Kimyona, right?" asked Hikaru.

"Yeah, why?" Kimyona asked. who was just as confused as Sentoki was.

"Professor Oak told me about you as well."

"So it looks like it's us three," said Sentoki," I'm about to challenge the gym. You guys going?"

They walked inside the gym and found Brock, the gym leader, sitting in the middle of the Pokemon field.

"You came here for a gym battle didn't you?" asked Brock with his arms folded.

"Of course, isn't this the gym?" said Kimyona.

Brock got up and took out a Pokeball. "Then prepare yourself to battle the leader of rock types!"

"I'll go first guys," said Sentoki. He put his blue satchel down as he stepped onto the field.

Kimyona and Hikaru went up and took a seat on the bleachers.

"I see there's not that many trainers today," said Sentoki as he looked around.

"Shut up and battle! Go Geodude!" Brock said as he threw the Pokeball.

"Geodude geo!" yelled the Geodude as he punched his fists together.

"In that case, go Treecko!"

"Treecko treecko!"

"You move first," said Brock with a firm tone.

"Alright, Treecko tackle!"

Treecko lunged at Geodude with a Tackle attack.

"Geodude, counter it with Mega Punch!"

Geodude quickly threw his fist at Treecko.

"Dodge!"

Treecko swiftly bent back to dodge the punch. "Pound!"

Treecko jumped behind Geodude and smacked him with its tail. The Geodude went flying back and Treecko chased after it.
