Chapter 7: Mt. Moon and Kimyona

"Well Squirtle, we're finally here. Viridian City," said Sentoki as he overlooked the city. "Why don't we stop at the Pokemon Center before we hit the gym."

"Squirtle Squirtle!" said Squirtle with joy.

Sentoki and Squirtle passed through the streets of Viridian City and went inside the Pokemon Center.

"Its empty," said Sentoki as he looked around.

He heard the automatic doors open and girl, about the same age as him, walked inside to heal her Pokemon. She had a light green dress on with a black jacket with green lining on it. She had a hat matching her jacket on the top of her light brown hair. Sentoki released his Pokemon and they sat down at a table to eat a light snack.

"Hi Nurse Joy!" said the girl.

"Hello there! Would you like to heal your Pokemon?" asked Nurse Joy.

"Of course!" said the girl as she placed 6 Pokemon balls on the tray.

"Where you going today?" asked Nurse Joy.

"Mt. Moon. I'm going to try to catch a Clefairy," said the girl.

Sentoki, trying not to eavesdrop, couldn't resist not hearing the conversation. 'Mt. Moon; That place sounds familiar. Father told me about that place. He said that cave is strange and weird noises always come out of that place,' thought Sentoki to himself as he sipped some of his mango juice.

"Anyway, thanks Nurse Joy," said as the girl left the Pokemon Center.

Sentoki stayed sitting while he untied his blue bandanna and tied it back on, tightening it. He got up from the table, called back his Pokemon, and placed the Pokeballs on the tray. Nurse Joy turned around and placed the tray onto the cart.

"So Mt. Moon. How far is that place from here?" asked Sentoki.

"Not so far. It is quite dangerous I've heard," said Nurse Joy as she gave the tray back to Sentoki.

"I'll check it out after I challenge the gym leader," said Sentoki, placing the Pokeballs as he placed 5 Pokeballs on his belt and called out Squirtle.

"Oh. About the Viridian Gym. It's been closed lately," said Nurse Joy with a disappointed tone.

"What do you mean?" Sentoki asked as he let Squirtle climb onto his back.

"The official gym leader Giovanni has been missing for quite a while. We have a replacement gym leader named Blue but he left earlier today to help his grandfather in Pallet Town," said Nurse Joy with her hands folded in front of her.

"I've met the Professor at Pallet. I was there myself," said Sentoki.

"I'll wait until Blue comes back. I'll ask him what happened. Anyway Sentoki, you have to go around Viridian City. Something happened so the construction workers built a path around it. You're also going to have to go through Pewter City and skip the gym in order to get to Mt. Moon," said Nurse Joy as she walked into a room with a Chansey.

"Alright, I'll see ya later Nurse Joy!" said Sentoki as he left the Pokemon Center.

"Well Squirtle, we're gonna go to Mt. Moon. The gym is closed."

"Squirtle squirt!"

Sentoki walked onto another route leading toward the entrance of the cave. "That girl in the Pokemon Center said she's here. I wonder if we'll meet up with her," said Sentoki.

They walked into the cave and heard a waterfall along with Pokemon noises here and there.

"Clefairy clefairy!"

"Squirtle did you hear that? The girl said she was looking for a Clefairy. Let's follow the noise," said Sentoki as he ran in the direction the noise was coming from. He turned a corner and saw 4 Rocket grunts surrounding a girl in the middle along with a Clefairy hiding behind her.

The girl took out a Pokeball and called out her Bulbasaur.

"She's a trainer! We should help her!" whispered Sentoki to Squirtle. Sentoki hid behind a corner and quietly sent out Elekid. "Use Thunder Wave," whispered Sentoki. Sentoki jumped out from the boulder and used Thunder Wave on the Rocket grunts. After being zapped, they turned around and saw nothing. "Bulbasaur! Use Razor Leaf!" exclaimed the girl. Blades of leaves were shot at the Rocket grunts. They turned around again to face the girl just when Sentoki's Tepig jumped out and used Ember, burning the Rocket grunts.

"OOHH!!" yelled the Rocket grunts.

"Vine Whip!"

Vines came out of Bulbasaur and spanked the Grunts in the butt.

"Water Gun!"

Squirtle jumped out from the boulder and drenched the grunts in water.

"Now Dratini, finish with Iron Tail!"

Dratini came from behind and whammed the Rocket grunts in the back of the head.

All the noise scared the Clefairy and made it run away.

When the girl wasn't paying attention, the leader came out from behind and tried to snatch her.

"Tackle!"

Eevee came out, jumped over the girl, and rammed the grunt in the chest. All the Rocket grunts were on the grounded, fainted. Sentoki, with his shades on for awesomeness, came out from behind the corner.

"Thanks for helping me," said the girl.

"No problem. Wait. You're that girl from the Pokemon Center," said Sentoki.

"Yup, I am. What's your name?" asked the girl.

"Sentoki."

"I'm Kimyona."

"So what are you doing here?" asked Sentoki.

"I was trying to catch a Clefairy until Team Rocket showed up. Then you came along and helped me out," answered Kimyona.

"You got any quests?" asked Sentoki.

"I'm going to get all the badges and enter the Pokemon League," replied Kimyona.

"Just like all the other trainers," sneered Sentoki.

"No. That's not all. Team Rocket ruined my father's business."

"How?"

"They came in and ransacked the place; they destroyed everything. When they were done, they lit the place on fire."

"That's terrible."

"The worse part is what happened when they lit the place on fire," said Kimyona with a teary eye,"My father stayed there to put the fire out. He stayed....inside the building. He got burned and died."

"Oh my god. I'm so sorry," said Sentoki as he put his hand on his forehead.

"However, we're not so sure if he's dead or not. There wasn't a single trace of him left. Not his body, nothing. It was all burned."

"So you're going to find your father and one's who did it?"

"Yes."

"I have a similar quest, except my father didn't die."

Sentoki and Kimyona walked out of Mt. Moon while Sentoki told her the story of his father, how he was Professor Oak's partner, how he got captured, and his quest."

"Say, our quests are just about the same. Do you wanna partner up?" asked Kimyona as they were exiting the cave.

"Sure why not?"

"Where to next?"

"Well Viridian Gym is closed and we're near Pewter City. So let's go there."

"Alright."

They turned around and went the opposite way, heading to Pewter City to challenge the gym leader of rock types, Brock.
