**** This story contains alternate universe Bangtan Sonyeondan, with them being in school. The ages may be a little different for the sake of the school life. Jungkook and Hyjoon are in 3rd grade in middle school. Taehyung and Jimin are in 1st grade high school, YeongMi, Namjoon and Hoseok are in 2nd grade high school, and Jin and Yoongi are in 3rd grade of high school ****

YeongMi took a deep breath before stepping through the wide doors. She figured she should feel nervous, but she was too annoyed to care. She had been dragged from her comfortable, familiar life and sent away with absolutely no notice.

It's not that she had friends there, so she hadn't really left anything behind, but it was still less than ideal for her. It was her second year in high school, and had she actually been invested in pursuing future education, this move would have killed her chances at getting the best grades.

The elite Daewon prep school. Her parents had paid generously to ship her off here. One of the most well-known boarding schools in all of South Korea. Right in the heart, located in Seoul, they couldn't have asked for a better school to lose their daughter at. Top class school that had a long history of successful students.

She wasn't bitter at all.

If her parents were going to send her away, then she would raise Hell. Was she being an immature child throwing a tantrum for her parents attention? Maybe. Did she care? Not at all.

Scoffing, she removed her shoes and walked through the vast hallways. It was nearly vacant, but she heard the bustle of students in the distance, and she assumed that they would all be in class already, cleaning up the rooms.

She tried not to wince every time her bare feet smacked against the polished floor. Staring at the paper in her hands, she cursed herself for her bad handwriting until she found the door to her class.

When she came in, the entire class fell silent, and she fiddled with her uniform in annoyance. It was only the first day, they didn't even know her well enough to have a reason to stare yet.

Someone walked in behind her, and the room echoed with a shrill shriek of shock. YeongMi smirked. The teacher was here.

"YOUNG LADY! Why are your feet naked?!"

YeongMi turned around, feeling the trouble coming on. She should feel intimidated - she was supposed to respect her elders, and especially her teacher.

YeongMi knew she was being a disrespectful asshole, but she held a firm belief that respect should be earned. She had learned the hard way that not all adults should be treated like they were worthy of respect.

"You don't mean to say that this school allows students to wear shoes inside?" Evidently everyone caught the sarcasm in her voice because she was getting a death glare from the teacher and hushed giggles from students.

A few other students were looking mortified, no doubt the students that went above and beyond to impress the teacher and basically worshipped them. She gave them a tired glance and they looked away, speaking in hushed whispers.

"No, but we require that you wear school slippers. You can learn all about it in lunch, as you will be joining me here."

YeongMi gave a wide grin, clapping her hands together in mock joy. "That's great, I can't wait, it's a date then miss."

"Hand out." YeongMi sighed carelessly, holding her hand out whilst the teacher smacked the stick across her knuckles. YeongMi knew all about these 'magic sticks'; she was familiar with this punishment, she knew it like the back of her hand, and the stick knew the back of her hand very well.

She stood tall, resisting the urge to rub her now sore knuckles. She had to stay strong, there were people here and she wouldn't be known as the girl who cried on her first day. She'd never let them see her cry. She couldn't be seen as weak, they'd jump all over her as soon as they saw her weak. She wouldn't go through that again. If they were to talk about her, let it be because of her wit, her stoic distant presence, not for crying.

"Now, everyone settle down. I trust you can find your seat." YeongMi nodded encouragingly, giving the teacher a thumbs up and walking to the back, then plopping down in an empty seat.

The lesson began, and she saw the students obediently beginning to copy down notes. No one was asking questions, not that she would expect that.

However, she did notice a few students that weren't paying attention.

The boy to the right of her was sitting with his legs sprawled in front of him, looking too big for the chair. The boy in front of him was obviously texting under the desk, laughing so loudly that she had nearly jumped when she first heard it.

"Jung Hoseok, do you find this lesson amusing?" The teacher stood stiffly, looking less than amused.

"Oh yes teacher, the way you teach is so inspiring!" Even the boy's speaking voice was animated to the point where she couldn't tell if he was actually that happy or if he was simply really good at sarcasm.

"Well, perhaps you can be inspired in lunch as well then? And tell your friend that the desk is not a pillow. He will be joining us as well. Top of the class but he's still getting into trouble." YeongMi wasn't sure if the teacher meant for them to hear the last part, but in any case the teacher resumed the lesson.

"She must be lonely, inviting everyone to have lunch with her." The Hoseok boy laughed, and she looked up to see that he had appreciated her hushed comment.

Hoseok continued to text just as before, leaving his friend alone. Normally YeongMi wouldn't care less, but monster man's legs were spreading farther apart in his careless nap, and his foot was shoving into hers.

She slipped her foot away from his and promptly kicked his chair, causing a moment of a faux-freefall sensation that woke the boy up immediately.

The glasses lay on his nose lopsided, and his hair was ruffled from rubbing against his arms to find a comfortable sleeping position. He looked over at her unimpressed, before leaning down towards her.

"Any particular reason for that?" His voice was deeper than she'd expected, but she tried her best to ignore it's melodic tremor.

"I don't make it a habit to play footsie with random students. I don't even know your name."

"Kim Namjoon. And you?"

She looked at the boy, surprised by him. She had just expected him to go back to sleep, not strike up a conversation. She wasn't sure what the make of this boy.

"Yi YeongMi." The boy nodded and turned back to his desk.

When the lesson was over, everyone began to stand up and leave the classroom.

As she walked out the door, YeongMi felt a hand on her wrist, and she turned to see Namjoon standing over her.

"I'll see you in lunch then?"

"Guess so. It must be your lucky day." She grinned before walking away.
