So I guess someone finally dated him? Who would be crazy enough (? JoKiNg okay don't kill me) ****YeongMi wasn't sure whether she was more annoyed or amused.
She'd spent the last 2 days living off of convenience store ramyeon and soda. And as good as it was, they only had so many seasoning options, and YeongMi had already tried them all. She was craving rice and restaurant - cooked tofu.
The 'fun, family like bonding road trip experience' had consisted of whining, bad parodies of songs, whining, senseless bickering, bad farts (blame the convenience store foods), and more whining.
For as much as these boys loved each other, they were constantly finding new reasons to get on each others asses.
Jin and Namjoon took turns driving, so they were only involved because the other boys complained to them.
As for the 3 boys in the back seat, they were bickering and fighting, smacking each other and complaining loudly.
Jungkook and Taehyung took turns sitting in the back of the truck with the girls, while Yoongi always pretended to be asleep when they switched, and Jimin remained dedicated to staying with the girls.
YeongMi and Hyjoon were constantly bombarded, hearing the newest dilemma between the boys.
It had gone from sweetly amusing to frustratingly tiresome.
"Yoongi! Kick me one more time in your damn sleep, I swear- "
"Swear on what, you overgrown fur ball? You gonna sing trot music to me until my head explodes from the vibrations of your low voice?"
"Shit, I didn't know he was actually awake...."
"You talk like you're fucking greeting a crowd of a thousand screaming fans, Taehyung. And he's literally right next to you, dude."
"Dangit Hoseok."
"Goddamnit you guys are fucking annoying!"
"Namjoon, your language is shit!"
"Jin, you just swore - "
"Because you guys give me a damn headache, Taehyung. Everybody shut the hell up, I need to focus on driving. Namjoon, play your music loud enough to drown everyone out. Please, dear god."
Jungkook and Jimin were giggling, and Hyjoon kicked Jungkook with her foot to get his attention.
"Why are you laughing bunny boy? You're just as immature when you sit up there."
Jungkook glared at Hyjoon before turning away, closing his eyes and holding his head up in a contemptuous pout.
Hyjoon rolled her eyes and looked at Jimin's gleeful smirk.
"Hey! You would probably be worse than all of them if you sat there too, don't act so smug."
Jimin's smile dropped, and he turned away from them, his body facing the side of the truck, frowning.
YeongMi grinned, taking the opportunity to sharply smack his butt.
He made a high pitched sound and immediately sat up, rubbing his butt and staring wide eyed at YeongMi with a blush coating his cutely chubby cheeks.
She shrugged innocently, before laughing and patting his head.
Jungkook let out a light laugh; he was happy to not be the one getting teased to embarrassment this time, but he didn't want to push his luck.
He just let his laugh fall to silence and seemed to be trying to sink into the side of the truck, disappearing from notice.
They stopped for some gas, and YeongMi jumped out of the car quickly, needing to get away from the havoc.
Everyone else had the same idea, as they soon piled out of the car and off towards the bathrooms and food stand.
YeongMi opted for leaning against the truck, letting the others spread the chaos elsewhere.
Namjoon stood next to her as he pumped the gas, giving her a small smile.
"They're crazy, huh?"
YeongMi looked at him blankly.
"Fucking crazy. I'd rather be alone in my room, in quiet peace." Her voice was wistful, and Namjoon frowned a little.
"Surely you didn't want to spend your vacation all alone?"
She shrugged. "I always do anyways, it's not a big deal for me. Comfort in the constants, you know."
She realized what she said, and how it sounded like she was asking for pity, and she turned to Namjoon quickly, shaking her hands back and forth as if to disappate the words in the air before Namjoon could hear them.
"I mean, I always want to spend vacations alone."
Not entirely a lie, after all.
But Namjoon had heard it in the sad tone, and he looked concerned.
Shit, she didn't want concern. She didn't want any sort of feelings that would complicate things in any way.
"You never went to see your family?"
No! No, not the questions of family. How was she supposed to say that her parents were too busy without raising suspicion?
Surely it wasn't that obvious....
But it could be!YeongMi didn't know what to say, so she shrugged, turning away and facing forward, hoping that he would drop it.
Just as Namjoon didn't realize she wouldn't talk, YeongMi didn't realize that Namjoon's heart was twisting in pity, clearly shown on his face, creased eyebrows and puckered lips.
"Really? And you didn't go with any friends-"
Namjoon sucked in lightly, regret clear in the way his words fell away.
"Ah right, you said you didn't have many friends - "
Namjoon was really digging himself into a hole here.
He finally found the sense to shut up, and YeongMi quickly retreated to the back of the truck.
