55. Close Quarters

Students were crawling out of the windows like something out of a zombie movie. Having lost Hyjoon in the crowd, YeongMi creeped out of the crowd, picking the lock of the storage shed before gently closing it. Leaning her foot against it to prevent it from opening, she held in an uncomfortable breath.

Well, now she knew how the grounds were always so clean - it seemed that the staff shoved everything into these sheds. She could hardly move, there was so much junk digging into her back and her leg.

It couldn't possibly get any worse.

Her legs were suddenly shoved into her stomach, slamming into her chest as someone ran into the door, struggling to slip inside.

She cradled her chest in her arms, hissing in pain as the unwanted visitor sat down next to her.

"Wait, is someone in here?"

"As a matter of fact, yes. And considering you've just made my breasts invert inside my body, I think it's fair to say that you can get out, right now."

"Shit, is that you YeongMi?"

Of all the people, it just had to be him.

"Namjoon, why am I not surprised. This is my spot, go away."

"What, you own the hiding spot? This can fit at least 2 more people. It's not fair for you to hog it."

YeongMi squirmed as Namjoon's legs splayed out, pushing her farther against the wall.

"You really want more people in here? You're absolutely - shit," YeongMi started scrambling backwards, trying to disappear into the boxes of junk behind her.

"Oh what, I really don't need that much room-"

YeongMi grabbed Namjoon's arm, harshly tugging him over to her and shoving him behind the box.

"I suggest you shut up, or we're about to get caught."

With a regretful sigh, she leaned her body over his, laying her head down in his shoulder to be out of sight just in time for a pool of light to enter the shed.

"Is anyone in here?"

As if they'd just admit it. They were hiding for a reason, they didn't want to get caught.

YeongMi held her breath as she imagined the flashlight searching the room.

Was her leg sticking out too far? And more importantly, was Namjoon's leg laying out in plain sight?

She was painfully aware of the warmth spreading across her body as it pressed into his, feeling his firm body against hers as she struggled to balance herself over him, enough to be out of view but still not laying entirely on top of him.

God, her arms hurt, but she would sooner be in pain than lay entirely on top of Namjoon, no matter how warm he was. Even being this close made her body heat up, and she desperately hoped that it was in angry annoyance, and not something else. Something suspiciously close to a blush.

The light disappeared, and the door closed them back inside.

They were alone.

Letting out a relieved sigh, YeongMi waited for a moment longer before shoving herself off on Namjoon and scooting back to the open area.

It was too much to ask that Namjoon would stay back there; no, he quickly followed her, and then they were sitting thigh against thigh, their arms shoved awkwardly in their laps as their shoulders pushed against each other.

"Stop touching my leg." YeongMi tried scooting away from him, but there was no where else for her to move.

"I'm not doing it on purpose, get over yourself."

"God, why did you just have to steal my hiding place?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see your name on it, YeongMi."

"I was here first, and now we're stuck here together until the teachers go away. Who knows how I'll make it."

"Well, I had no idea that spending a minute with me was really so difficult."

"Oh, trust me, it is."

After that, they both clamped their mouths shut, both more than a little annoyed and uncomfortable with the close quarters.

They might as well have been sharing a couch with how much room they had.

And it was more than a minute. It took ages for the sound of people outside to die down, and even then YeongMi waited, just to be sure.

Finally, Namjoon grew too impatient. "Didn't you, I don't know, want to get away from me?"

"Relax. You're obviously an amateur. The worst thing we could do would be to assume it was clear and leave the safety of our hiding spot too soon."

She waited a few more minutes before finally creeping to the side, moving her fingers to slip between the door and the wall. She pulled-

But the door didn't budge.

Desperately this time, she pulled harder, leaning her head against the door in defeat when she heard the very obvious clink of metal.

The door was locked.
