After Namjoon's confession that he wasn't dating Bora, he and Bora had gotten into a heated argument, and the others had quickly ran away to escape the awkward situation.

YeongMi was curious about how it ended, and simultaneously she wanted to hear nothing about it.

She only hoped that what Namjoon had said was still true after they finished talking.

YeongMi was not really all that surprised when Namjoon showed up at her door that night, and she had already made the ramyeon by the time he arrived.

She let him in and made him eat before he no doubt ranted to her about Bora.

She wanted to avoid prolonging the unattractive topic by having Namjoon pausing to collect his thoughts every few moments. This way, he could eat and by the time he was done he would hopefully know everything he wanted to say and how to say it.

Please let this be fast.

YeongMi really didn't want to know about Bora.

"I mean, just because she's back doesn't mean we're automatically dating again, how could she assume that?!"

YeongMi nodded in agreement.

She really did not want to hear about this.

"I mean, I like her. Or I did, at least."

Once again, a nod.

This is really not how YeongMi wanted to spend her night, hearing about how Namjoon liked Bora.

As if she cared.

She kind of did, but mostly she hated the discussion.

"Now, I mean, it's been what, a year since we've even talked? It was in middle school when we confessed, and now she shows up again? Assuming I was just waiting for her? She had the worst timing, really."

YeongMi didn't quite understand what Namjoon meant by that; why was Bora's timing bad? Had she interrupted something?

She swallowed back the hopeful thoughts about her involvement in it.

Namjoon looked at her strangely before quickly continuing.

"I don't know what to do, really."

Definitely ditch her. Tell her to fuck off and let's go back to the way things were before she came.

As much as she wanted to, YeongMi didn't say that.

"The genius doesn't know what to do, that's a first."

Maybe teasing wasn't the right choice this time.

Namjoon gave her a strained look, pulling at his hair dramatically.

YeongMi groaned; why did she have to pretend that Bora was an important topic to her?

Friendship really was hard, wasn't it. It's so much work.

"Yeah, I have no idea. I think you're right not to date her though, yet at least."

Or ever, that would work too.

For strictly friendship reasons, of course.

"Well, what would you do?"

YeongMi squirmed uncomfortably. This was something she had no experience with, how could she possibly help?

"Well, I never really did the whole dating thing, so I don't know. I'd probably tell her to fuck off."

Namjoon laughed. "You would, our crazy YeongMi."

YeongMi let out an awkward exhale of a laugh.

Did he think she was crazy, really?

She did some questionable stuff, sure, but she wasn't completely crazy.

"You've probably rejected tons of love confessions. A through and through heartbreaker I bet."

YeongMi looked away, feeling increasingly uncomfortable.

She had rejected a large number of confessions, but she didn't want Namjoon to think that. Why did he think that?

Did he see her as nothing but a loveless person with a penchant for breaking hearts?

She wasn't.

Oh god, she was.

"Well, yeah I guess. I never knew how long I was staying at a school so I didn't really do commitments. It's not like I enjoyed it though. The girls really hated me, though."

Yeah, because their boyfriends looked at her in a way that was supposed to be reserved for them.

It wasn't exactly YeongMi's fault, though. Even if she dressed less flashy, at least a few boys were bound to notice her a little too much.

Namjoon nodded, though it was blind to YeongMi, who had looked away in discomfort.

"I guess I never thought of it that way, I'm sorry."

YeongMi looked over at him to smile lightly, as if it was nothing to her.

It wasn't.

A look of worry crossed his face then.

YeongMi tried to ignore how it made his lips jut out from his face in an enticing pout, or about his eyes narrowed to an attractive slit as his eyebrows lowered.

"How long are you staying here? You're not leaving again, are you?"

God, she hoped not.

She shrugged, hiding her face so he wouldn't see the worry in her eyes as well.

She didn't want to leave.

This was caring too much.

She was in too deep.

God, she would drown in these emotions, and then the ocean would sweep her away to a new school before she could take a breath.
