43. Disrespect

While Namjoon was sulking, Jin had sent Hyjoon out to get YeongMi for a group talk.

When Hyjoon came out with a dejected Jimin, he started to worry.

He felt responsible for her, for everyone, as they had all gone on vacation to his family's house. If she ended up running away on his watch, he didn't know what he'd do.

"Jimin, when did she leave?"

The boy folded into himself, "it was a while ago. I'm sorry, she just seemed so closed off, I didn't want to follow her."

Jin shook his head, sighing softly.

"Okay, let's go look for her. Jimin, come with me. Jungkook, Hyjoon, go with Yoongi."

"What? Why do I have to go?"

Jin gave him a glare, and Yoongi sighed softly, standing up in defeat.

"Okay kids, let's go."

"Who are you calling kids, grandpa?"

"Oh, you're so lucky that Jin wants us all back in one piece, or I'd leave you on the beach, Hyjoon."

They bickered as they walked, and Jungkook trailed behind, wishing he was anywhere but with them.

And then, he heard something other than their voices.

"What? They're fighting!"

Yoongi and Hyjoon turned back to him, strained looks on their faces.

"Who are you talking to?"

"And why are you surprised that we're fighting?"

Jungkook shook his head, pointing ahead of them.

"No, them!"

And they turned to see YeongMi and Bora ahead, hands locked on each other.

"Oh, shit, it finally happened. I have to see this!" Hyjoon ran ahead, leaving Yoongi and Jungkook.

"We should stop them...." Yoongi nodded at Jungkook, and they began running over.

They could hear their voices from a distance.

"You're a worthless slut!"

"And you're a lying bitch, eat my shit Bora!"

"I don't want anything from your nasty ass!"

"Really, because your friend has been kissing it since she got here!"

Soma backed away, panic in her eyes as she stared at the two.

Underneath Bora's nails were strands of YeongMi's hair, along with strips of skin that peeled off as she had scratched her.

YeongMi's knuckles were bruising, and coated in a mix of blood, both hers and Bora's, as she was generous in her punches.

Bora's acrylic nails had proven to be more stable than YeongMi had anticipated - she suffered a long scrape on her face before she figured it might just be better to hold her hands down.

While Bora was struggling to get her arms out of YeongMi's hold, YeongMi swung her leg out, slipping it behind Bora and kicking the backs of her legs so she fell down. YeongMi fell on top of her, and quickly pinned her arms to the sand.

It took Jungkook repeatedly hitting him before Yoongi finally approached the girls, pulling YeongMi back by the waist.

And it was not an easy task; YeongMi struggled so much that Jungkook had to pull Bora out from underneath her before she gave in and let Yoongi pull her up.

She dabbed casually at her lip, wincing as she felt it tear open more. Wiping the blood from her mouth, she turned to a limping Bora, grinning widely despite the pain it caused her split lip.

Bora was busy complaining to Yoongi, not noticing him rolling his eyes at her every word.

"She just jumped me, all of a sudden she was just punching me?! I think she broke my nose."

YeongMi couldn't argue with that; even now, there was blood pouring out of Bora's nostrils, collecting on her upper lip, much to her disgust.

Jungkook sighed before grabbing her arm.

"Tilt your head up to stop the bleeding."

She pouted at him, "can you help me get back to your house? Mine is too far."

YeongMi was about to lunge at her again - she knew she was lying - but Soma spoke first, pointing to a house a few paces away.

"Ah, did you hit your head? My house is just up the beach."

Bora gave her a fierce glare, and Soma seemed to realize what she had done, looking down awkwardly.

"I'll help you to Soma's house."

With her arm over Jungkook, Bora sent YeongMi a glare before limping, quite theatrically, to Soma's house.

YeongMi started poking her cheek, trying to gauge where the burning gash stretched, while she began to walk back to the house.

She inhaled softly as she saw two figures stalking towards them.

Hyjoon and Yoongi stepped away from her when Jin approached, clutching the shirt in his hands.

Jimin burst in front of him, hugging YeongMi tightly.

"Noona, you're okay! We found your shirt on the beach and thought you drowned!"

She figured that was a little bit of an embellishment.

She resisted hugging him back, but he pulled away with such a crestfallen look that she couldn't help but reach out and ruffle his hair softly.

His smile was worth it.

Jin looked her over before giving her a patronizing look.

"What happened to you?"

YeongMi shrugged, and Yoongi decided to speak for her.

"She got into a fight with Bora. You should've seen it -oof," he glared at Hyjoon, who had elbowed him in the side.

Jin shook his head, looking exhausted.

"Okay, well, come on. We'll talk about it later."

"I'm busy," YeongMi grabbed the shirt from his hands, pulling it over herself before turning to face Jin.

"Well, too bad. You and Namjoon are going to have a civil conversation, and we're going to talk about what happened."

YeongMi pulled a face, scrunching her nose back and raising her eyebrows. "No offense, but fuck no."

Jin pulled back in surprise before crossing his arms. "Yes, we are."

YeongMi shook her head violently, feeling irritation rising in her gut.

Jin moved to grab her wrist, but she jerked away, walking backwards.

"Sorry, but you're not my dad. You can't tell me what to do."

And with that, she turned and ran, trying not to mull over the fact that she had just disrespected the one person she never saw herself disrespecting.

Sorry, Jin.

This is just how it has to be.

She can't care anymore.
