YeongMi stomped all the way to detention. She stomped to the teacher to get signed in. She stomped to her seat. Her heart continued to stomp in her chest as she was made aware of just who was sitting beside her.

What on earth was he doing here - no, she didn't want to know. She didn't care.

She pointedly twisted herself away from him, crossing her legs and clenching her fists on her desk.

"YeongMi," he hesitated, his voice so soft it was almost inaudible.

YeongMi forced a smile as she waved at the nearest student, catching his attention. He was a small boy, obviously new to getting in trouble, as he was very uncomfortable and nervous at the situation.

"Hey, what's your name?"

The boy gulped, his feet tapping the floor nervously. "Uh, Ji Hyojin...."

"Tell me, what's your opinion on love?"

Namjoon felt his insides crawl, watching YeongMi leaning over her desk to face the younger boy. His hands found themselves curling up in annoyance.

"I, um, I think - "

"Tell me, what would you do if someone played you?"

"I don't - "

"What would you do if you weren't the only one they were taking interest in?"

"Um, I'd - "

"Would you break yourself off?"

"I guess, maybe?"

"Would you never forgive them?"

"I mean, maybe if they were really sorry - "

"You couldn't believe them, you couldn't believe a word that came out of their nasty mouth!"

"Nasty, I think that's an exaggeration, YeongMi." After all, she seemed to love them when they were captured with hers, on her skin.

She ignored Namjoon, continuing to give all of her attention to Hyojin.

"You couldn't trust them."

"I couldn't?" The boy squeaked at YeongMi's intense look, her eyes looking desperate and unnerving. "No, um, I couldn't, I couldn't, of course."

She gave him a pleasant smile, reaching out to pat his head. "Good boy. Remember, you can't let anyone do things you don't want them to, not if you're involved. You stand tall and fuck them all."

"I, I do what?"

"Not actually," YeongMi gave a labored sigh. "I mean, you cut them off. Tell them to fuck off, don't deal with their shit."

"Alright YeongMi, I get it. Now just leave the kid alone."

The pleasant smile on her face transformed into a repulsed grimace as she turned to Namjoon.

"I wasn't talking to you."

"Oh please, all of that was meant for me, you don't actually care about that kid. You were just saying it so that I would hear. You were using him to get to me."

"Well, that's rude. I think Ji Hyojin is a very interesting boy. As always, you know nothing, Namjoon. As if I'd care to do that."

"Maybe it's you that knows nothing, YeongMi."

"And maybe you should stop talking right now."

"No, I got detention so that we could talk. It's the only way you can't run away."

YeongMi gave him a dirty look. "Oh yeah? Watch me."

YeongMi stormed out of the room, ignoring the teacher's disgruntled cries. She didn't care that it would only amount to more trouble; she didn't want to spend another moment next to the vile creature that used to fascinate her, and catch her breath.

She walked the hallways to calm down, avoiding the teachers in the halls.

By the time she reached her room, she wanted nothing more than to curl up in bed and forget herself for a while.

Or forever, if that was possible.

But she shouldn't be thinking like that. She promised herself she'd be alright. She always was, and this time would be no different.

But instead of solitary solace, YeongMi found a boy standing outside of her room.

He was waiting for her.

She considered circling the halls one more time and hoping that he would leave, but she was tired. Why should she inconvenience herself?

No, she would forcibly remove Hoseok from her doorway if she had to, but she would get to her room.

She confidently walked towards Hoseok, her lips just barely pulled into a scowl.

"I'd appreciate it if you would get out of my way, I need to get to my room."

"YeongMi, you have to listen to me."

Her scowl grew, her lip curling up in annoyance, exposing her teeth like a cornered beast.

"I don't have to do anything, thank you very much."

Hoseok sighed, his shoulders slumping. "No, you're right. You can do whatever you want. But I wish that we wanted the same things."

YeongMi looked away, biting her lip and focusing on the pain to distract her.

"I miss you," Hoseok paused, looking at YeongMi with pleading eyes, "we all miss you, okay. It's really not fair actually, just because Namjoon fucked up doesn't mean we should all be punished."

He had a point. But this wasn't about Namjoon, this was about trust, and how it shouldn't be, well, trusted. It was a foolish sentiment, to trust, to care for people. She was done with it.

"Don't blame Namjoon. It doesn't matter. I guess I thought I could do the whole friend thing, but it's not for me. So just, leave me be, please? It'll be less painful for you." For the both of them, really. But she wouldn't say that, it'd be like admitting that she was hurt too.

"But you have to give us another chance, please. You were happy." Hoseok paused, uncertain. "You were happy, weren't you?"

Incandescently, for a while.

"Goodbye, Hoseok."

"YeongMi, I'll leave you alone, if you really want me to."

YeongMi sighed in relief, her shoulders slightly dropping.

"But only because I know you don't want me to! You couldn't, I know you better. You don't really want to be alone YeongMi, and you don't have to be. Please, just come back to me, to us?"

YeongMi scrunched up her nose slightly, resisting the urge to sniffle at Hoseok's confident pleas.

Hoseok stepped forward suddenly, throwing his arms around YeongMi.

She closed her eyes, exhaling softly at the sudden warmth of Hoseok's body against hers.

It was.... nice.

Against her better judgement, she didn't pull away, instead letting him hug her tightly.

He pulled away after several moments with a soft smile. "Just think about it. I'll be waiting, we all will."

YeongMi watched him step away, and she escaped into her room before she could embarrass herself, or worse, take his offer seriously.

Down the hall, Namjoon stood frozen, staring at the two.
