Janette sat on the hospital bed, her legs swinging over the side, dressed in normal clothes, waiting for Aljaz to arrive to take them home. Jorge lay in his carrier on the bed next to her, still so tiny only 8 days old. He began to whimper slightly, getting hungry and bored stuck in the carrier, wanting his Mummy to pick him up. Janette gently rocked the carrier and stroking the back of his starfish hand, "shush shush little Jorge it's okay, Daddy will be here in a minute to take us home and then we can give you a bottle filled with nice warm milk yeah? And everything will be okay, just fine baby." Aljaz appeared standing in the doorway of their hospital room, "everything okay?" Janette looked up, her face lighting up like a Christmas tree, "well they are now...this little one is getting hungry and bored, he hates being in his carrier." Aljaz walked over to the bed, taking hold of Janette's hands, "well the car journey will be fun then won't it?" He said with a small smile forming across his face. Janette half smiled, "hmm...can we go now please baby? I want to get out of this place, take our baby boy home," she said. Aljaz nodded, taking hold of Janette's hand and Jorge in his carrier as the baby whimpered slightly again. As Aljaz started the car engine Jorge's eyes drooped, drifting off to sleep. Just as they turned onto the street Janette took hold of Aljaz's hand on the steering wheel, "can we keep driving for a bit longer? That's the first time I've seen him so peaceful," Janette asked. Aljaz nodded, "of course bučka...you could always close your eyes and get some rest, you look exhausted." "Well aren't you a charmer Mr Skorjanec? You are right though, I'm absolutely exhausted but I don't want to leave you just driving us round." Aljaz rolled his eyes, "don't be silly princess...rest your eyes, even just for 10 minutes, please?" Janette sighed and leaned her head back on the back of the chair closing her eyes.
30 minutes later Janette stirred, Aljaz was still driving round in the car. "Aw baby I was only supposed to close my eyes for 10 minutes, you've been driving around for this long?" Aljaz rolled his eyes, "well you and Jorge both looked so peaceful I was scared that if I stopped the car you 2 would wake up...Jorge is still fast asleep," Aljaz said. Janette turned round to check on Jorge, he was breathing in and out. "Do you want to go back to the house bučka?" Janette nodded, "yes please baby...I can feed the baby then before the kids get home." Just as Janette said that Jorge began to stir, letting out a kitten like cry. Janette reached out for him, putting one hand in Jorge's carrier trying to calm him down, "it's okay my little one, Mummy will feed you in a minute when we get home, hush now my baby."
Back at the house Janette carefully lifted Jorge out of his carrier, he nuzzled into her chest, opening and closing his little mouth. Janette rocked him up and down as he focused his gaze on his mother's features, "hush now my baby, I know you're hungry, Daddy's making you a bottle now." Aljaz passed Janette the bottle, putting the tete into the baby's mouth he began to guzzle the milk, missing out on lunch as he'd had a nap. "Someone's hungry?" Aljaz said as he watched his mother feed their son. Janette smiled, "he missed lunch, baby?" "Yes princess?" Janette looked at him, "I don't suppose you could make me some lunch? I'm starving," she said. Aljaz laughed, "of course, anything for my gorgeous wife." "You mean your old, wrinkly wife." Aljaz rolled his eyes, "wrinkly? I don't suppose you could enlighten me where these wrinkles are? And you're not old, to me you'll always be the amazing, gorgeous, stunning girl that stole my heart." Janette leaned up to kiss him, "when did I steal your heart? You never told me." Aljaz rolled his eyes again, "when you ran into that dance studio for the Burn the Floor audition, late, and then we partnered together for a duet, that was the scariest moment of my life, scared that I would make a fool of myself in this Goddess." Janette raised an eyebrow, "goddess? Really? Anyway, lunch? Please?" Aljaz smiled, kissing her on the forehead and going out into the kitchen, leaving Janette settled on the sofa with Jorge. Jorge turned his head, trying to get a proper look at his mother, Janette shifted him round so she was holding him out on her lap, supporting his head with her forearm and hand so she could look at him properly. "My beautiful baby boy...yes that's right I'm talking to you...perfect just like your Daddy, yes just like your Daddy." "Perfect like your Mummy more like," Aljaz said coming in from the kitchen carrying a plate with a banana sandwich with 2 pink wafer biscuit and a glass of pineapple juice. Janette rolled her eyes, "can you take him while I eat please baby? I don't want to get food crumbs all over him," Janette said. Aljaz nodded, lifting him out of Janette's arms. Jorge was considerably smaller than Amelia-Lily, Sasa, Leonardo, Caleb or Angel had been but he seemed like a mixture of all of his older siblings. Amelia-Lily's starfish hands, Sasa's dark brown hair, Leonardo's big brown eyes, Caleb's button nose and Angel's cherub mouth...a mixture of the whole family...the final piece in the jigsaw...
