Silence

"Mummy are you okay?" Leonardo asked, hanging onto Sasa's hand. Janette closed her eyes and nodded. Jo was still trying to tell her nephew to apologise. "Auntie Jo what's wrong with my Mummy?" Sasa asked worryingly. Jo turned her towards her Scorpio sister, she was hanging her head holding onto her stomach, tears leaking out from the corner of her eyes. "Janette what's wrong?" Jo said bending down to face Janette. Janette shook her head..."I think...the baby is coming," she said in between breaths. Jo called an ambulance, balancing the twins on her hips, Charlie following behind. Once on the ambulance Jo text Aljaz:
JANETTE IS IN LABOUR....ON THE WAY TO THE HOSPITAL...HURRY
5 minutes later Aljaz replied:
I'M ON MY WAY
At the hospital Jo sat the 3 children outside the birthing room, 1 of the nurses sat with them, trying to distract them...all 3 of them, including Charlie, were scared...what was happening to Janette?
Janette gripped onto Joanne's hand, screaming with the pain, sweat dripping down her red face..."Where's Aljaz? I need him here now," Janette said in between breaths. Jo stroked her head, moving the hair out of her face, "he's on his way." Just as Jo said that Aljaz burst into the room, taking Jo's place next to Janette. "I'll take the twins back to mine and pick Mils up from school," Jo said as she backed out of the room. Aljaz stroked her head, "it's okay bučka, everything will be okay...don't worry...you're doing splendidly," Aljaz reassured his wife. Janette shook her head, "no...he shouldn't be here yet...it's too soon," she cried. "Come on Janette 1 more push...you can do it," Alexandra said as Janette gave 1 final push...this time it was different...there was no cry...no wail...no scream...nothing...silence filled the room....
