"Right, I think that is everything." Arthur announced about an hour later.

"Does anyone have any questions?" he added.

I remained silent as I sat picking at my nails. It was the worst possible scenario, not only did I have to accompany Arthur and the Horseman, but I also had to stay with them and ensure they had everything they needed over the next few months. All I wanted to do was run away and get as far away from Daniel as possible...but I was trapped. I needed this job and in order to keep my job, I had to do as Arthur instructed me.

"Okay so the jet leaves tonight for our first city, I'll instruct a car to drop the five of you off at Amelia's house so that she can pack her belongings." Arthur explained.

If possible my heart plummetted even further. Caitlin would not be very happy to see Daniel.

The car journey to my flat passed in silence, you could cut the atmosphere with a knife. Clearly the others were picking up on the tension even though they had no idea what was causing it, except maybe Merritt but thankfully he was keeping it to himself. As soon as the car pulled up outside the flat, I virtually ran out of the car, desperatly trying to get away from Daniel.

"Hey slow down!" I heard a voice call from behind me.

I turned to see Jack running up the stairs trying to catch me up. He smiled at me as he tried to get his breath back. A few moments later we resumed walking up the stairs.

"You don't really like being with us do you?" Jack observed.

"It's not you that bothers me." I admitted.

He glanced at me and raised his eyebrow questioningly, but thankfully he didn't press me. Even though I barely knew Jack he seemed like the sort of person that I could trust and I found myself warming to him.

"The others won't know which flat it is." Jack chuckled as he glanced behind us and saw that the other three were nowhere in sight.

"Daniel will show them." I said quickly, wincing when I realised what I'd said.

Luckily I was saved further questions by arriving at my door. I quickly unlocked it and left the door ajar so that the other three could get in.

"Nice place." Jack said kindly as we walked inside.

"Thanks, we manage." I smiled as I removed my jacket and placed it on the back of the dining chair.

"I guess I should get my packing done." I said quietly.

Jack nodded and took a seat at the table.

"Help yourself to a drink if you want one." I told him as I walked into my bedroom.

Daniel's POV

My brain was spinning as I climbed the stairs to Mia's flat. I'd never expected to see her again....it had been three years since I'd last laid eyes on her. She was even more beautiful than I remembered. The way she smiled, the twinkle in her eyes and the way the sun highlighted the different shades of brown in her hair. I shook my head...trying to clear my thoughts. All of that was a long time ago...we'd both moved on.

It was obvious from her behaviour that she was trying to avoid me, which to be honest was a welcome relief. I couldn't stand the way she looked at me...full of hatred and anger. She blamed me for our break-up, yet there were wrongdoings on both sides. Merritt kept glancing at me and I knew from his expression that he knew about the history between Mia and myself.

As we entered the flat, I sighed in relief as I saw that Mia was nowhere to be seen. Henley and Merritt joined Jack at the table and began to chat, but I couldn't make out what they were saying. I leant against the counter and closed my eyes, twiddling the deck of cards around in my hands, trying to forget about the way she looked at me on the day that I broke her heart.

"What the hell are you doing here?!" I heard a voice exclaim.

My eyes snapped open and I saw a very angry Caitlin crossing the room.

"Nice to see you too Caitlin." I said smugly.

"Get the hell out of my house!" she cried.

"I can't do that I'm afraid, you see the four of us work for Arthur too and Mia has been instructed to accompany us to Vegas for a show." I explained.

"A show?" she frowned, glancing at Henley, Jack and Merritt.

"Yes a magic show." I said condescendingly.

She scoffed and turned away from me.

"How about you do a dissapearing act." she said sarcastically.

"Very good." I said smiling slightly.

"Just make sure you stay away from her, I don't want her to get her heart broken again." she warned me.

"Believe me, I have no interest in getting near your sister." I snapped.

"You guys used to date?" Jack piped up.

"For a little bit." I shrugged.

"Actually it was three years." Mia snapped as she walked back into the room carrying her suitcase.

I shrugged and looked at the floor.

"So what happened?" Jack questioned, looking between the two of us.

"Long story." Mia said quickly.

"Not really, she's just frigid." I announced before I could stop myself.

I glanced at Mia's wounded expression and silently cursed myself. I seemed to keep hurting her, without being able to stop myself. She quickly crossed the room and slapped me hard across the cheek.

"Don't you ever speak about me like that again!" she hissed before turning on her heel and storming out of the room.
