"I need to ask you something." Daniel whispered as he took his shoes off and lay down next to me on the bed.

"What is it?" I answered. He sighed and gently rested his head against my stomach, my skin tingling as he gently traced circles on my stomach.

"Are we having a baby?" he asked quietly.

"What?" I whispered.

"When you got shot, you whispered that you were pregnant." he stated.

I fell silent and pondered his words for a few moments.

"I haven't done a test yet, but I am late. I was going to discuss it with you once I'd taken the test." I explained.

"So we might be having a little magic baby?" he asked hopefully, gently stroking my stomach.

"It's not magic Danny, don't you know how anatomy works." I chuckled.

He smiled and sighed as I gently stroked his hair. I closed my eyes in pleasure as he gently kissed a line along my stomach.

"Don't get your hopes up though, I might not be pregnant." I pointed out.

"I know, Amy said the baby might not make it anyway coz of you being shot." he sighed.

"Maybe I should do a test." I suggested.

"Yeah, at least we'd know one way or the other." he agreed.

"I'll go down to the shops later." he added.

"You can't do that, someone might recognise you." I pointed out.

"Yeah that's true." he sighed.

"I can go." I said.

"No way!" he said sharply.

"I'll be fine, it's just down the road and I'm less likely to get recognised than you." I argued.

He paused for a moment, clearly thinking through what I'd said. I knew that he desperately wanted me to do the test so that he knew whether we were having a baby or not, but he hated the idea of letting me out of his sight, especially after what happened last time.

"Only if Jack goes with you." he said eventually.

"I don't want anyone to know yet and plus he'll get recognised." I said.

"He already knows, I spoke to him about it when you were resting." he stated.

"I'm sorry, I just needed someone to talk too about it." he quickly added.

"It's fine." I said thoughtfully. It suddenly became clear why things had been weird between Jack and myself. He was probably terrified, in the same way that I was, that I could be pregnant with Jack's baby. Daniel didn't even know that Jack and I had slept together, I had no idea how to tell him. Even though we hadn't been dating at the time, I knew that he wouldn't be happy about it. As selfish as it was, I couldn't bear to lose him.

"Plus the world thinks that Jack is dead, so they won't be looking for him." Daniel stated, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah I guess so." I said quietly. I found myself longing once again that none of this stuff with the horseman had happened. To be able to have Daniel by my side to support me when I brought the test seemed like a distant dream. Even though I hated having to hide from the world, I knew that it had brought me and Daniel together again.

He watched me closely as I sat up and brushed my hair out of my face.

"If anything happens whilst you are out, then call me." he said quietly.

I nodded slowly and turned to face him, gently resting my forehead against his. He smiled and gently kissed me, our lips gently moving in synchronisation. I slowly moved my leg over him so that I was sitting on his lap, sighing in pleasure as he kissed my neck whilst gently running his hand up my thigh. I smiled as I pushed him back onto the bed, and leant on top of him, my lips returning to his.

"Mia." he whispered as I began kissing his neck and slowly kissed my way down his chest.

"What?" I asked.

"We can't do this." he whispered hoarsely.

I smiled defiantly at him and slowly unbuttoned my shirt, smiling slightly as he watched me, his eyes full of lust.

"Mia, you need to stop." he said sternly as he slowly sat up.

I froze at his words, the hurt running deep as he rejected me.

"You don't want me." I whispered sadly as I slowly climbed off of him. He watched me sadly as I quickly pulled on a tank top and my leather jacket.

"Come here." he said.

I ignored him and pulled on my white skinny jeans and heels.

"Mia come here." he said again, perching on the end of the bed. I sighed in defeat and walked over to him. He smiled as he placed his hands on my waist.

"Of course I want you, I always have." he whispered.

"We have to be careful of your wound." he stated as he gently lifted the corner of my top and brushed his soft fingers against the dressing.

"I guess so." I said sadly.

"We can't risk your stitches coming out." he stated, standing up and smiling down at me as I gazed up into his eyes. I nodded slowly.

"I mean look at you, you're stunning." he whispered, as he placed his hands on my waist and gently turned me around so that I could see myself in the mirror. He gently brushed my hair to one side and kissed my neck.

"I'd better go." I sighed.

He nodded slowly and reluctantly removed his hands from my waist. I walked over and slowly picked up his suede shoes from the floor, in an attempt to stop him having a meltdown that something was out of place.

"Leave that, you're not meant to be bending over." he said sternly.

"Danny." I whispered as I noticed a card in his shoe. I picked it up and gazed at a picture of an eye with an address written at the bottom.

"What is it?" I asked as he peered over my shoulder.

"It's from the eye, it's the same card that I got before the horseman started." he explained.

"I'm the lover." he beamed as he turned it around and showed me the image of a heart on the front of the card.

"You wish." I grinned as I picked up my bag.

"It must be a summons for something." he stated thoughtfully.

"Maybe the others got a card too." I suggested.

"Maybe." he whispered.

"We'll talk about it when I get back." I told him.

"Be careful." he asked worridly.

"Stop worrying I'll see you later." I called as I left the room.
