"Danny, what the hell are you doing!" I yelled.

He shrugged and stared at the floor, breathing deeply as he tried to calm down. I watched as Jack sat quietly; his cheek bleeding slightly as it began to swell up.

"He overstepped the mark." Daniel eventually stated.

I rolled my eyes at him and quickly walked into the kitchen. His eyes followed me closely as I returned with a damp cloth and sat next to Jack. Jack smiled slightly as I reached out and gently held the cloth against his cheek.

"Sorry." I whispered when he flinched in pain.

He smiled and gently placed his hand over the top of mine, his eyes twinkling as he gazed into my eyes.

"At least you two have an excuse to get cozy." Daniel scoffed from behind me.

"For god sake Daniel, that's enough!" I cried, quickly standing up and turning to face him. My temper had finally snapped, I'd had enough of his accusations. I hadn't done anything wrong, so I didn't have to take it any longer.

"I will not be told what to do by you." he said condescendingly.

"Leave then." I hissed.

"You obviously hate me and you don't believe that Cameron is your son, so just go!" I added angrily.

He froze and stared at me for what felt like an eternity.

"I loved you so much and you've broken my heart." he whispered sadly.

"I would never cheat on you." I said quietly.

"Every word that you ever said was a lie." he muttered.

"No...Danny...I-" I started.

"Don't." he interrupted.

"I can't believe you don't believe me." I whispered, reaching towards his arm.

As soon as my hand touched his arm, he placed his hands on my shoulders and pushed me away roughly. I gasped as my back made contact with the wall.

"Don't touch me." he hissed in my ear, blocking me with his body so that I was still pinned against the wall.

"What else did you lie about?" he added.

"I haven't lied about anything." I sighed, knowing that it was futile. No matter what I said he wouldn't believe me. As soon as those words left my mouth, Daniel's expression changed, almost as though something within Daniel had snapped.

"You cheated on me...I fell for your little innocent act but you're just a slut. Maybe Graham was right, he didn't do anything wrong..you cheated on me then too!" he exclaimed.

"Danny..." I whispered, my voice breaking as tears rolled down my cheeks. How could he say something like that to me? To bring up the worst memories of my life, in such a cruel and hurtful way.

"Save it for someone who believes you." he snapped, before turning to walk away. As he turned I gasped when I realised that he was wearing a chain around his neck. On the end of the chain, resting gently against his heart was my engagement ring. Despite what he said he still loved me, but at that moment I was too hurt to care. His words had cut straight through me...like glass. My heart felt shattered. Even though I could understand that he felt angry about the results, that didn't give him the right to say such hurtful things. My eyes were still blurred with tears as I watched Daniel leave the flat, slamming the front door behind himself.

"Jeez that was intense." Jack breathed as soon as Daniel left.

I nodded slowly and angrily wiped the tears from my cheeks.

"Are you okay?" he asked gently.

"Yeah it wasn't me that he hit, are you okay?" I asked quietly.

"I'm fine, he hits like a girl." he grinned, clearly trying to lighten the mood.

"I can't believe he said that to you." he added.

I shrugged and gazed at the floor, not really sure what to say.

"I believe you." he tried.

"Which part?" I frowned.

"The Graham stuff and that the baby is Daniel's." he reassured me.

I frowned at his words, slightly confused by what he was saying. It didn't make any sense that Jack trusted me when Daniel didn't and yet Daniel had known me for years. We'd grown up together.

"Why do you believe me?" I asked.

"Because I know that you wouldn't lie and if Daniel was thinking clearly he'd know that Cameron is his son." he explained.

"I guess he believes the lab." I sighed.

"They must have made a mistake, he is definitely Daniel's. Back when you took the test it said you were twelve weeks pregnant we only slept together a month before, even if the test was wrong which is possible, that would mean you were only six months pregnant when you gave birth, which isn't right, he definitely wasn't three months early." he stated thoughtfully.

"I know, but Danny thinks that we spent more nights together." I sighed.

Jack rolled his eyes and slowly picked up the letter from the lab, that was still on the table where Daniel threw it.

"It only says inconclusive, not negative. You should call the lab and get them to check it." he said thoughtfully.

"Just forget it, maybe it's better that he stays away from us." I said quietly, still hurt by his words that kept swirling around my head.

"You don't mean that." he said quietly.
"I've just had enough." I said quickly as I stood up and picked up my keys.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"To the gym, do you mind watching Cameron for a while?" I answered.

"No problem." he said quietly.

I smiled my thanks at Jack, I needed to keep busy to forget about all the things that had happened and going to the gym to lose the baby weight seemed like a good way to go.

"I'll be back soon." I stated.
