"Oh my god Jack!" I exclaimed as he smiled and walked into the room.

Even though Daniel had told me a couple of hours ago that Jack was alive and well, I almost couldn't bring myself to believe it, until I'd actually laid eyes on him. He hugged me tightly as we stood in the safe house that Daniel had taken me too.

"Right, I have to go." Daniel stated.

I instantly stopped hugging Jack and turned to face Daniel.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"I have some preparation to do for the final show, but if you stay here you should be safe." he reassured me.

"If anything happens, you make sure she's safe no matter what." he told Jack sternly.

"Yeah of course I will." he replied quietly.

"Is it safe for you to go out there, shouldn't we just lay low here?" I suggested.

"No, it's okay, we need to see this through." Daniel answered.

"I'll see you later." he added, before quickly leaving the house.

As soon as he left Jack turned to face me.

"So you decided to come on the run with us then?" he grinned.

"Yeah I guess I did." I smiled back.

"Have you said goodbye to your family, because there is no telling when you will see them again." he pointed out.

I shook my head slowly and took a moment to consider his words. Even though Daniel had made it clear that I would be away from home...I hadn't really made the connection that I might never see Caitlin again. She'd been there for me all those years ago when no one else had and now I was turning my back on her. Maybe she needed me, was I being completely selfish. Despite the guilt and sadness that I felt, I knew that I was making the right decision. I couldn't bear to be parted from Daniel again, or even Jack...who I'd only known for a few months but still felt a strong bond with him. It would just be really hard saying goodbye to her.

"Why don't you call her?" Jack suggested, clearly picking up on how I was feeling.

"I guess I could Skype her." I said sadly.

He nodded slowly and sat at the table opposite me.

"Although hang on, won't they be able to trace the call?" I quickly added.

"Nope, Henley set up a firewall so it should be fine." he reassured me.

I nodded and quickly pulled my laptop out of my bag. Jack watched me closely as I quickly called Caitlin.

"Hiya!" she exclaimed when she answered.

"Hey." I smiled.

"Where have you been, I haven't heard from you in like two months!" she exclaimed.

"Yeah sorry, it's been a bit mental." I admitted.

"I know, I saw all the stuff on the news, what were you thinking getting caught up in this stuff?!" she cried.

"I didn't know at the beginning, but now it's okay." I sighed.

"How is it okay?" she frowned.

"Because even though being with them is dangerous, I've never felt more alive." I admitted, slightly relieved that I'd finally told someone.

She shook her head and rolled her eyes at me.

"Is it because Daniel is there?" she asked.

"Partly." I answered, my eyes darting to Jack.

"Please tell me you haven't got back with him." she sighed.

"No!" I said quickly.

She raised her eyebrows skeptically but decided not to press me.

"I was just calling to say that we have to go on the run for a while...so I don't know when I'll be in touch again." I muttered.

"What....why?!" she exclaimed.

"It's a long story." I sighed.

"Amelia, please just come home and forget about all of this." she pleaded.

"I can't." I whispered.

"Why not?" she frowned.

"I can't never see them again." I sighed.

"Them, you mean Daniel?" she asked.

"Yeah and Jack, they are my friends." I told her.

"So you'd choose them over your sister!" she cried angrily.

"No...I-" I started.

My eyes darted to Jack as he stood up and wandered into the kitchen.

"I've been there for you all these years and you'd just leave me for some friend you've only just met and the guy that broke your heart!" she shouted.

"I'm sorry...it's just..." I started but trailed off.

"Just what?!" she exclaimed.

Warm tears rolled down my cheeks as I began to sob quietly.

"I love them." I sobbed, realising in my heart for the first time how I felt about them.

She glared at me and quickly ended the call. My eyes darted to Jack as I saw him standing in the doorway. I knew instantly that he'd heard what I'd said.
