A few weeks later

The day of mine and Daniel's wedding had finally arrived. My stomach was a mixture of nerves and excitement. Even after all these years of knowing Daniel I still couldn't help but wonder if I was making the right decision. At least we'd managed to keep the wedding small, after much pestering Merritt had finally agreed to get ordained so that he could marry us. Both Daniel and I had agreed to only invite Violet, Joanne, Caitlin, Jack and Henley. We wanted a small, intimate service surrounded by the small group of people that we trusted which is why we'd rented a quiet function room in our local hotel.

I smiled at Joanne in the mirror as she quickly zipped up my dress.

"Do you want me to put your hair up?" she offered.

"No, I prefer it down." I answered.

"Plus Danny likes it when it's down." I added.

She giggled and gently applied the finishing touches to my makeup. We both glanced around as Jack entered the room, looking rather handsome in his suit.

"Wow ladies, you look amazing!" he breathed. I smiled at Joanne as her cheeks coloured. Whenever she was in the room with Jack she would blush and become flustered. Even though it was more than obvious that she liked him, Jack seemed completely oblivious. Jack and I locked eyes in the mirror and he smiled warmly at me.

"Where's Cameron?" I asked him.

"Caitlin is taking care of him." he told me.

"Stop talking!" Joanne said angrily as she tried to apply my lipstick.

Jack laughed and rolled his eyes at her.

"It's kinda cool that he gets to be at your wedding, even though he won't remember it." Jack stated when he'd finally stopped laughing.

Jack laughed again as I gave him a thumbs up signal, to afraid to speak in case Joanne had a total melt down.

Daniel's POV

"Are you sure you want to do this Daniel?" Mum asked me yet again as I pulled my suit jacket on.

"Mum, we've had this conversation, you're not going to change my mind." I sighed.

"But she's a liar, Graham should be here but you wouldn't allow him too because you've fallen for her bullshit!" she protested.

"That's because it's not bullshit, she has scars to prove it." I said quickly.

"And plus you'll be raising another man's child." she stated, completely glossing over what I'd just said. She was always so dismissive when I mentioned Graham that I couldn't help but wonder if she suspected that we were telling the truth, but couldn't bring herself to admit what kind of man she'd married. Yet here she was judging my choices.

"That doesn't matter, he's a beautiful little boy, I'll raise him like my own." I said smiling slightly to myself. Thankfully she still had no idea that Cameron was my son and that was the way that it had to stay. The horseman had sworn to keep Cameron's true paternity a secret to protect him from Graham. Even though I now had the paperwork to prove that he was my son, and I wanted to frame it and shout it from the rooftops, I had to do what was best for my son.

"So it doesn't bother you that every day you'll have to look at him and be reminded that she cheated on you?" she asked.

"Nope." I replied.

She shook her head and rolled her eyes at me.

"I guess love really is blind." she mumbled.

"Well it worked on you with Graham." I snapped.
