Amelia's POV

A few weeks had passed since Daniel and I had broken up and to my relief the unbearable pain of being apart from him was slowly beginning to ease. Even though it would never fade entirely, I was now able to deal with missing him and longing to be back with him.

When I'd first returned to Caitlin she'd been shocked and angry that I had returned to her, still hurt by the fact that she felt like I'd chosen Daniel over her. But in time she had come to forgive me and had been thrilled to discover that she was now an auntie. Being away from Daniel had showed me how much I missed the simple things in life. To be able to visit the shops or walk Cameron in the park without fear. The FBI had been watching our flat for the first couple of weeks but they now seemed to have accepted that I wasn't involved in the crimes and no longer with the horseman.

Caitlin smiled at me as she walked into the room and saw me feeding Cameron.

"He's so cute." she smiled as he gurgled happily.

I smiled back at her and sighed as I watched Cameron. Every time that I looked into his eyes, I was reminded of Daniel. I couldn't help but wonder where he was and if he was safe. A pang of guilt hit me as I thought about Daniel and the fact that I was keeping his son from him, but I knew that it was the right thing for my son.

"Do you miss them?" Caitlin asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah a bit, the five of us were quite close." I sighed, as I lifted up my legs and placed them on the opposite chair, gently placing Cameron on my legs and waving his toy at him.

"It was pretty mental when Daniel proposed to you on the final show. It was live on TV." she told me.

"Oh god." I whispered, my cheeks colouring.

"It was kinda cute." she beamed.

"Can we please stop talking about Danny." I said quickly.

"So you're not getting back with him then?" she asked, completely ignoring what I just said.

I glared at her and sighed.

"I can't, I have to think about the baby." I muttered.

"And plus he was keeping something from me." I added.

"What?" she frowned.

"I don't know, I never found out." I admitted.

"But then again everyone has secrets, you kept things from him." she pointed out.

"Okay I'm done with this subject." I repeated.

She nodded slowly and sighed as I turned my attention back to Cameron who was sucking my finger happily. The two of us jumped as we heard a knock at the door.

"I'll go." Caitlin stated, quickly standing up.

"Hey handsome boy, we'll need to put you down for a nap soon." I cooed at Cameron as Caitlin left to answer the door. I glanced up as she returned, closely followed by Joanne.

"Hey." Joanne smiled as she sat down at the table.

"Hi, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"I came to talk to you." she said quietly.

"Did Danny send you?" I asked quickly.

"No, I haven't spoken to him since the night of the last show." she answered.

"Okay, so what do you want to talk to me about?" I asked, frowning to myself as her eyes kept flicking to Cameron.

"I heard that you were back and I wanted to ask if Daniel was okay?" she asked.

"We haven't heard from him in over a year." she added.

"As far as I know he's fine, but I haven't seen him for a few weeks." I told her.

"Why...what happened?" she frowned.
"Long story." I said quickly.

Even though I knew that she was only trying to help, I didn't want to keep going over old ground. I needed to try and move on and in order to do that I had to stop talking and thinking about Daniel and the other horseman.
"I'm sorry that I can't reassure you that he is okay, but I'm sure he's fine." I sighed.

I jumped as Cameron started crying.

"Ssshh it's okay baby." I whispered, gently bouncing my legs to rock him to sleep. He gurgled happily and slowly closed his eyes.

"Is he your's?" Joanne piped up.

"Yeah." I said quietly.

She gazed at him dreamily, a warm smile on her face. Cameron slowly opened his eyes and smiled at her.

"He's Daniel's isn't he?" she whispered.

"Yeah, how did you know?" I asked.

"He's got Daniel's eyes." she pointed out.

"I know." I smiled proudly.

My heart plummeted as a thought suddenly entered my head. Now that Joanne knew about Cameron, she would tell Violet who in turn would tell Graham. My worst fear would be realised. I would do anything to keep that disgusting human being away from my son. My thoughts flickered to Daniel for a brief moment, if only he was here to protect us.

"Joanne, I need a favour." I said quickly.

"What is it?" she asked.

"You can't tell anyone about him." I said, glancing at Cameron.

"Why not, doesn't Daniel know about him?!" she exclaimed.

"No, Danny knows, it's just that we weren't going to tell his family because we don't want Graham anywhere near him." I explained.

"When he marries your Mum, he'll be able to claim Grandparents rights and I don't want him anywhere near my son." I added.

"They are already married." she said quietly.

"What?" I whispered. She nodded slowly.

"I can't not tell Mum that she has a Grandchild." she said.

"Please, Joanne, you know what Graham did to me." I pleaded.

"It's what Danny wanted too, we spoke about it before he was born." I added.

"But..." she started.

"Please Joanne!" I cried, beginning to panic.

"Okay fine." she sighed.

"Promise me!" I insisted.

"Fine...I promise I won't tell anyone." she agreed.

I sighed in relief and watched as she walked around the table and pulled me into a hug.
