Amelia's POV
As I stood in the public toilet, waiting for Jack, I couldn't help but worry about the others. I wanted to be out there with them, helping them...making sure that they were safe. As soon as the coast was clear I made a break for it, running as fast as I could, desperately trying to get to the cover of the trees. I continued running but fell to the floor as I felt a searing pain in my abdomen. I gasped as I stared down at myself and saw that my clothes were gradually soaking with my own blood. I tried to stand, but yelped in pain and fell to the floor again. Even as I attempted to crawl away from my pursuers, I still couldn't summon the strength.
"What the hell were you thinking, shooting an unarmed suspect?!" I heard Dylan shout.
"Fall back!" he quickly added.
I breathed a sigh of relief as I heard them walking away. Even though I couldn't see them, it felt as though they were right next to me. I gently applied pressure to my abdomen, desperately trying to stem the flow of blood. I quickly crawled over to a tree and rested my head against it, trying not to lose consciousness as I gradually became weaker. My snapped up as Merritt rushed over to me.
"Oh my god Amelia!" he exclaimed when he saw me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him.
"I heard the shot." he told me.
"Let me see." he added as he gently lifted the corner of my shirt.
"How does it look?" I mumbled, gritting my teeth in pain.
"Bad." he admitted.
"What are we going to do, we can't go to a hospital?" I whispered.
"I don't know, Daniel will know what to do." he replied.
"Where's Jack?" he added.
"We got separated." I whispered, closing my eyes slowly.
"No, don't go to sleep!" Merritt yelled.
I jumped and quickly opened my eyes.
"Daniel, it's Merritt, we need help." I heard him say into the phone.
"I don't know exactly where we are, use my tracking bracelet." Merritt told him, before quickly hanging up the phone.
Daniel's POV
Once Merritt hung up the phone, I quickly logged into the app and tracked Merritt's location. As soon as I had his location I ran to where he was. Even though Merritt hadn't said what had happened on the phone, I could tell by his tone that it was something bad. If anything happened to any of them I would never forgive myself. I couldn't help but wonder who had been shot.
Eventually I reached Merritt's location and gasped as I saw Mia laying on the ground, blood pouring from her abdomen. I could feel the colour drain from my face as I gazed at her weak form.
"She's not moving." I whispered as I knelt beside her.
"She keeps slipping in and out of consciousness." Merritt informed me.
"How did this happen, Jack was meant to be taking care of her?!" I exclaimed.
"I don't know, she said they got separated." he answered.
"The bullet is still inside her, we need to take it out." I stated.
"Yeah but we might make the bleed worse and it's not safe to go to a hospital." he replied.
I sat for a moment, deep in thought. I had to do something to save my beautiful Mia. She was laying here, bleeding because she loved me so much that she'd agreed to run away with me. This was all my fault.
"Call Jack and ask him to call Amy." I told Merritt.
"Amy?" he frowned.
"Yeah his sister, she's a doctor. Tell him to get her to meet us at the next safehouse." I said quickly.
I gently picked up her lifeless form and sighed as she rested her head on my shoulder. We needed to get her somewhere safe and warm, whilst we waited for Amy to arrive.
"Danny." she whispered as she slowly came around.
"Yeah it's okay, we need to get you home." I told her gently.
I watched in horror as she fainted again.
"Danny." she whispered again as I continued carrying her.
"Danny....I'm...pregnant.." she whispered before quickly fainting once again.
