I squinted as I slowly opened my eyes and saw the sunlight streaming through the window. As I sat up in bed, I sighed in disappointment as I realised that Daniel was no longer beside me. I silently cursed myself for allowing myself to feel that way again. He'd broken my heart, I couldn't allow him back into my life, not even as a friend, not after what he did to me.

I slowly pulled on a tracksuit and made my way into the kitchen, smiling slightly at Merritt who was helping himself to some cereal.

"Did you have a nightmare last night?" he asked.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I said quickly.

"I heard you screaming." he argued.

I sighed and continued eating my cereal in silence. He watched me closely as he sat opposite me at the table.

"It just happens sometimes." I shrugged dismissively.

"I can understand that after what you've been through." he said gently.

"You don't know the half of it." I sighed.

"I know everything." he insisted.

"Even about the abortion." he muttered.

I gasped and quickly looked around, afraid that we'd been overheard, but I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw that Daniel and Henley were chatting happily, completely engrossed in their conversation.

"You can't say anything to anyone." I hissed under my breath.

"I won't, but you need someone to talk too." he pointed out.

"I can't talk about it!" I snapped, trying to give him the signal that I wanted to change the subject.

He fell silent and watched me closely. I couldn't help but feel slightly uncomfortable under his gaze. The way that he studied me made me feel like he was trying to figure me out.

"There is another option." he pointed out.

"What?" I sighed, when I realised that he wasn't going to drop the subject.

"I could hypnotise you to forget about what happened." he offered.

I sat for a moment and pondered his offer. As tempted as I was to accept his offer I knew that I couldn't. Even without the memories, I still wouldn't have Daniel, and without the memories of what happened to me, I wouldn't have any idea of why I'd lost Daniel and that would tear me apart.

"No, the bad things that happened to me are part of who I am. I just have to learn to live with them." I sighed.

My heart stopped as a movement caught my eye and I glanced up to see Daniel walking past the table. It was obvious from his expression that he'd heard what I'd said. To my relief he continued walking and didn't question me.

Arthur smiled at me as I took my seat next to him in the theatre. The room was pumped with anticipation for the four horseman's first show. I watched the four of them proudly as they performed on stage. I hadn't realised until now just how talented the four of them are and how powerful their stage presence was. They had the audience lapping it up.

"Now for our final trick, we're going to do something never before seen on a Las Vegas stage!" Henley announced excitedly.

"Or any stage for that matter!" Jack added.

"Tonight, ladies and gentleman..." Daniel started before pausing for a moment for dramatic effect.

"We are going to rob a bank!" he added.

The crowd erupted into screams and applause, as I glanced at Arthur I could see that he knew nothing about this.

"It must be a trick, they wouldn't actually rob a bank!" he shouted, trying to make himself heard above the noise of the crowd.

I watched in complete awe as they mesmerized the crowd with their trick. It was seamless and the crowd completly believed that Etiyan had just teleported to France and robbed a bank. I gasped in shock as the 'stolen' money rained down into the crowd.

"We are the four horseman and goodnight!" they all shouted, before bowing and quickly making their way off stage.

Arthur and I stood up and quickly made our way backstage.

"Please tell me you guys didn't actually just rob a bank?" I asked them as we sat in the car on our way back to the apartment.

They glanced between each other, a slightly guilty expression written on their faces.

"It's complicated." Henley piped up.

I glared at her angrily, slightly insulted by her tone of voice. Just because I wasn't one of the horseman, that didn't make me an idiot.

"It's quite a simple question really, did you rob a bank or didn't you." I said bluntly.

The four of them remained silent for the rest of the journey. Clearly their guilty expressions and reluctance to answer the question spoke volumes. I couldn't believe Daniel had allowed himself to become involved with a group of criminals. He truly wasn't the man that I once knew. I couldn't even look at them in the same way.

As soon as we reached the apartment, I quickly walked to my bedroom and closed the door behind myself. My brain was a sea of thoughts as I lay down on my bed, trying to figure out what to do. I'd foolishly been taken in with their magic, but it appeared that they were just common criminals. After all these years spent wishing that Daniel was still by my side, I found myself pleased that I was no longer involved with him. If he chose to take an immoral path, then I didn't want to be associated with it.

My thoughts were interrupted by a loud commotion from outside. I frowned to myself and slowly climbed off my bed. As soon as I peered out of the window, I noticed a large crowd of people had gathered below the apartment. Part of me wondered why they were there, but another part of me wanted to remain here.

"Come out and show us a magic trick." one of the women squealed.

My heart plummeted, these people were clearly fans of the horseman. They would have searched for hours until they found out where they were. I rolled my eyes as they began chanting that they wanted the horseman to come out. I cursed and quickly left my room and wandered into the lounge.

"Where are you going?" Jack asked as I pulled on my jacket.

As I glanced up at Jack, my eyes darted to Daniel who was sitting on the sofa reading a book, whilst Henley sat next to him, her feet resting on Daniel's lap.

"To tell your fans they need to leave." I said shortly.

"Why do they need to leave?" Henley piped up.

"Because we don't have any security, it's not safe for the four of you to go out there." I pointed out.

She glanced at Daniel and I could feel my blood boiling as the two of them burst out laughing.

"You worry to much about everything." Daniel said shortly as he quickly stood up and picked up his deck of cards.

"Daniel, you need to stay inside." I protested.

He smirked at me for a moment, before opening the door and walking outside.
