Starpaw headed over to the apprentice den. Inside, she saw her sisters, Lakepaw and Flamepaw. Her friend, Jazzpaw, (A/N: Jazzie-kun, you're my BFF!) was also inside the den, and she was sleeping on the moss.
"Jazzpaw, get up!" Starpaw cried out. The reddish apprentice lifted her head and opened her brilliant blue eyes. The she-cat looked at Starpaw.
"Do you want to go on a patrol with me?" the purple apprentice asked.
"Sure!" replied Jazzpaw as she was getting up from her moss bedding. The two left the den and headed for the entrance of camp.
But suddenly, a huge cat barged in through the entrance! Starpaw gasped when she realized who it was. Blackstar!
"ShadowClan is attacking!" Jazzpaw exclaimed as Starpaw lunged at the black-pawed leader. All of the ThunderClan cats emerged from their dens to fight. Starpaw lashed out, clawing viciously at Blackstar. The ShadowClan leader yowled and ran away into the undergrowth.
"Good job, Starpaw!" Firestar called once he chased off a ShadowClan warrior. "The last cat I knew who could fight like that was Sandstorm. You're a good fighter!"
Starpaw beamed happily at her mentor and leader. She was a good fighter! Maybe this is what the prophecy meant, Starpaw thought as she fought off another warrior.
