Chapter 17

"OH JESUS CHRIST!!" Dan screamed, his popcorn flew out of his lap and onto the floor. I laughed my head off, trying to ignore the obvious tension between Phil and I. "You alright there Dan?" He had his hand over his heart and he was breathing heavily, "no not really" I shuffled up closer to him and wrapped my arms around him. I rested my head on his shoulder "it's just a film" he kissed my forehead, I kissed him back. I looked up and saw the state of his hair "Dan" I cut myself off with a laugh "your hair" I heard Phil laugh a little. "What's wrong with it?" As soon as his fingers touched his fringe I saw his mouth drop, his hair was covered in popcorn. When I say covered I mean covered, It was so covered with popcorn I could barely see any of his actual hair. "Let me just shake it off" he ran his fingers through his hair, shaking his hand as he went along. Popcorn began flying all over the place, it went into my hair, onto the carpet even into Phil's hair. "Stop it!" I tried to block the popcorn with my hands but the kernels flew through the gaps in my fingers and into my face. He laughed at me "hang on!" He leaned forward and shook the rest of the popcorn directly into my face "Dan!" I playfully pushed him back.

"You're such a dickhead" I was trying to get all of the popcorn out of my hair whilst Dan was rolling around on the floor, laughing at me "Dan! don't laugh at her!" Phil crossed his arms and stared at him, Dan stopped laughing and sat up "I'm fine Phil" I reassured him, he really shouldn't of said that. "It's just a joke Phil" I sat still, praying that they wouldn't have another fight "she's not even your girlfriend so why are you so protective?" He narrowed his eyes at him, this cannot end well. "Well maybe I think I might be able to be a bit of a better boyfriend to Y/N than you" I saw dans expression and my heart dropped, he looked like he'd been slapped in the face. "What?" He stood up "you heard me" Phil stood up as well "she's my girlfriend for a reason Phil" he crossed his arms "and what reason is that?" Phil replied in a sarcastic tone "because she loves me and I love her" Dan glanced at me and then locked his eyes back on Phil "if you loved her you wouldn't of let her get beaten up" that was a step too far. "Who was it that had to save her? Me" what the hell is he doing? Does he want to have another fight? "Who helped her with her injuries? Me" Dan began to clench his fists "and what were you doing? Crying to Louise and Zoe saying you felt bad?" Phil was being horrible, I didn't know he could be like this. "You don't care about her, you just care about yourself" Phil barely finished his sentence before Dan pounced on him "DAN!" Phil tried to push him off but Dan was too strong "take that BACK!!" Phil kept pushing "NO!" Phil kicked Dan in between his legs and pushed him off. He scrambled to his feet and prepared for Dan to get back up "STOP IT!" I wanted to stop them but I didn't know how, they both ignored me and kept going. Dan got back up and swung for Phil "you've been jealous of my relationship since day 1!" Dan spat at him, Phil clawed his face, leaving bright red marks all the way down the left side of his face. "You don't deserve Y/N!!" Phil had turned from a cute, shy boy into a jealous, angry man.

I took my eyes off them for a split second to find my phone, I found it underneath a pillow. I quickly unlocked it and started texting the one person I knew who knows how to sort out conflict.

Emma! Help!!

What is it??

To Emma
Dan and Phil are fighting!!

Again?

To Emma
Yes! Can you come round to their flat?

I could hear Dan and Phil struggling in the background

Should I bring anyone else?

To Emma
Bring Louise and Zoe, quickly!!

I'll be round soon!

I suddenly heard a banging noise, I looked up from my phone and saw Phil on top of Dan, bashing his head against the wall. "PHIL!!" I threw my phone on to the sofa and stood up "PHIL STOP YOU COULD KILL HIM!" After banging his head 3 more times Phil stopped and stood up, Dan groaned. My heart was pounding so loud I couldn't hear myself think, Phil walked out the room, 10 seconds later I heard the front door slam shut. I looked back down at Dan and saw a massive pool of Crimson blood had formed around his head. I could barely breathe "DAN!" I kneeled next to him and lifted his head up onto my lap, covering me in blood. I looked around for a cloth or something to stop the flow of blood, I saw a blanket next to me and reached for it. I lifted dans head up and held the blanket to the wound, "your gonna be fine" I felt a warm tear fall down my face. His face had gone snow white and his hands were stone cold. Why the fuck would Phil do this? What sort of monster does this to their best friend? "It's all my fault" I sobbed, if I hadn't dated Dan, he wouldn't be dying in my arms. I heard the door open, "Y/N?" Emma called out to me "Emma" I turned my head around and saw Louise, Zoe and Emma. "Oh my fucking God!" Zoe covered her mouth with her hands, "what the bloody hell happened?" Emma kneeled next to me and placed her hand on my shoulder "I'll explain later, we need to get him to the hospital!" I gestured for Louise and Emma to help me lift him up.
