"This might be too much." I confessed, staring at the reflection of myself. Demi and Maria came over after to school to help me get ready for my date. Demi raided my closet and found a black and white flower crop top to match with the shirt. I had forgotten I bought the outfit last year. Since I don't ever go out I pushed the outfit to the back of my closet and it got lost in there.
Now staring myself in the mirror with the outfit out, my make up done, and my hair in loose curls, I feel like I'm trying way to hard for a guy who confessed he likes me. Lucas told me to dress nice but this is over the top. I'm out of my comfort zone with these clothes.
"No it's not. Trust me." Maria squealed happily. "You look great!"
"You're right. I do, I'm showing some skin, walking in some heels. I got this." I gave myself a pep=talk.
"That's the spirit." Demi grinned. "Relax, go have fun and enjoy yourself."
The doorbell rang and I knew it was Lucas. Xavier and Ale were downstairs working on a project so they'd would open the door. I rushed back into the restroom and grabbed my rose pink hand. Stuffing my lipsticks, my wallet, and phone in the bag, I rushed out the room.
"Juliana-" Xavier was about to yell out for me when he noticed me walking down the stairs. Xavier and Lucas kept their eyes glued on me. Suddenly. Ale walks out of the living room, his eyes meeting mine. I watched as his eye-balled me from head to toe, before taking in a deep breath.
I ignored their stares and gave Lucas a hug. I wanted to eat him up at that moment, he looked really handsome. He was wearing dark khaki jeans with a black v-neck shirt. To top off his outfit he had on a black leather jacket on.
"You ready?" He asked me, keeping his eyes glued on me.
I nodded. "Mom knows I'm going out tonight, curfew is eleven." I looked back at Lucas letting him know the last part was for him.
"I'll have you back by then." He promised.
"Okay, bye guys. The girls are going to pick up their things and leave." I told Xavier.
"We told them we were going for pizza after we are done with our project. Go on, have fun." He tried to give me one of his smiles but it came out a straight line.
Lucas places his hand on my back, causing me to tense up. He opened the door for me before stepping out, I waved to ale. He had a expressionless look on his face. he seemed bothered. He gave me a small wave and turned around going back to the living room.
Lucas walked me to the passenger side of the car and opened the door for me. "Ladies first."
"Thanks." I quickly got in, smoothing my skirt out in the back, so I wouldn't flash him what's underneath. I buckled my seatbelt while he came to the drivers side.
"Okay, so where we are going is a surprise. I'm going have to blind fold you." He said pulling out a black sleeping mask.
I gave him a odd look. We decided to go to dinner what's the surprise in that? "Okay..."
"I promise it won't ruin your make up." He placed the sleeping mask on.
"Can you see anything." I shook my head, the mask was tight so my eyes were close shut.
"Good." I heard him say. He turned on the ignition and drove out the driveway.
I wanted to ask him a bunch of question about our date but our date alone had me nervous. Things like these don't happen to girls like me. A college guy asked a high schooler on a date and he seemed not bothered one bit. I wasn't bothered by it either. Seniors from our school were dating guys from college, at least the ones who weren't involve with any of the guys in the game. Our age difference didn't matter to neither of us.
We drive in silence for awhile. I think he was trying to build the suspense which he did. My hands had become clammy from over thinking about what was happening. It was still hard for me to believe I was on a date with lucas. When the car came to a complete stop and I heard Lucas get out the car my heart began to beat rapidly.
He opened the door for me and helped me get out the car. I thought he was going to take the blind fold off and let me know where we were at but instead he walked me into whatever we were at. The sound of heels clattering against the floor was the only sound echoing in the place we were in.
Lucas kept his hand in mine as we continued to walk. I was a bit scared I was going to end up tripping with my heels. It was harder to walk in them than I hoped for. This is what I get for never wearing heels, when it's necessary I can't even walk in them.
"I hope this isn't too much but surprise..." He took the mask off and my jaw dropped. We were in the aquarium in downtown. We were surrounded by four glass walls, full of fishes. The reflection of the water against the glass made the room sparkle. I was speechless. No one had ever done something like this for me.
I was amazed by my surrounding, I failed to see the table of two set up int he middle of the room. "How did you get permission to do this?" I asked him with a huge small on my face.
"I pulled a few strings and with the help of my dad." He smiled, embarrassedly.
"This is amazing." I sighed.
His grinned widen. "I'm glad you like it." He pulled out the chair from the table and told me to have a seat.
A waiter came out from one of the doors behind him with two menus for us. "What would you like to drink?" He asked us.
"A Dr. Pepper for me." I said.
"Me too."
The waiter nodded and he left from the same direction he came in. I continued to look around the room, amazed by it all. I am a huge aquarium fan, I love watching the fishes swim and learn about the different world in the sea. My eyes landed on Lucas who was admiring me at my childish like expression.
"What?" I demanded.
He chuckled. "Nothing, I'm happy you're liking the view."
"This is perfect." I squealed.
"You are perfect." He whispered.
I looked away from him, blushing like crazy.
We spent most of our date laughing at each other corny jokes and talking about our future goals. I always knew Lucas was ambitious to get to his career goal and wanted a better life than the ones his parents had given him. Although his family was pretty wealthy and a college degree wasn't something his parents were asking him to get. i talked to him about my plans of majoring in pre-med instead of business. He laughed, saying i changed my major several times before. He was right, I can't decide what I want to major in.
The waiter brought us our plates and we ate quietly, getting lost in our own thoughts. It wasn't until he brought up a particular subject I found myself choking on my food.
"Are you okay?" He asked me as I reached for my drink.
I nodded. "What did you say?" I asked, wanting to reassure myself I heard him right.
"How long has Alejandro been crushing on you?" He repeated himself with the same devilish smirk.
Oh, so I heard him right.
