"I let your dad know you were going to be in the city tonight," Uncle Simon said as I prepared to leave the house. It was New Year's Eve and I had been convinced by my brother and boyfriend to ditch the country road and spend the last day of the year in the city with our friends.
Enrique had gotten permission from his parents to borrow the loft they have in downtown for the night. So everyone was gathering at his place to finish off the year with a 'bang' and enjoy the fireworks. At first, I didn't want to go, I rather spend my New Year's Eve watching movies, however, I overheard Uncle Simon and Aunt Cassy turning down an invitation for a party to stay with me. I had caused enough trouble for them and agreeing to go to Enrique's place meant they could go to their party. Either way, I let Xavier and Ale convince me to go, enjoying how they would try to catch my interest by reminding me of the no-adult party and teenage party. Apparently, Enrique and the guys were planning the night out, so the party wasn't going to start at his place but end there. After agreeing on attending, I let Uncle Simon know and they made their arrangement to spend the night in the city as well.
"Remember to text us when you get there," Aunt Cassy reminded me for the third time. I simply nodded. "Oh, and don't forget you can call us if you need anything,"
"Except getting you out of jail. Call your dad for that." Uncle Simon chuckled.
Aunt Cassy shot him a glare, "don't listen to him. Call us. We are taking care of you until you return to school."
"She knows I was joking!"
I chuckled, "Yeah I know. Don't worry. I know I need to text you when I arrive and in an emergency, call you,"
"Outta girl," He gave me a wink.
Aunt Cassy nodded, "alright, get going. We love you,"
"I love you too," I waved to them one last time before getting in my car and driving back into the city.
Enrique was letting everyone spent the night there, so I was partially ready for the New Year's Festivities. All I needed was to change into my clothes. The girls and I weren't legally at the age of being able to enter any of the clubs in town, luckily William was able to snatch some fake Id's. All we had to go was play the part of freshman in college.
The outfit I had picked out for tonight was a bit out of my comfort zone, especially with Alejandro. The last time I wore something revealing as this was when I went out on the date with Lucas. The thought itself made my stomach turn; I shouldn't be afraid of what Ale might think, however, the experience with Lucas had left a sour taste in my mouth. Ale would never do anything to hurt me—but he does carry around a temper. I sighed. It was pointless for me to freak out if he had an issue about my attire. He only had two options, get over it or cover me the whole night.
Arriving at Enrique's house Alejandro was waiting for me outside. He was leaning against his truck, casually looking down at his phone. Once I got out the car he looked up a small grin appeared on his lips.
"Hey," he said as he came over to me to embrace me in a hug. I rested the side of my face on his chest taking in his warmth. I had to admit Alejandro sends waves of calmness every time he is around. He was someone I needed.
"Hi," I smiled looking up at him. He leaned down pressing his soft lips on mine.
"I missed you," He responded in between kisses. I rolled my eyes, it hadn't been a week since the last time we saw each other—but I had missed him too.
"Me too. Is everyone here?" I asked curiously, noticing William and Xavier's car in the driveway.
He nodded. "Maria and Gabriela went to pick up some pizzas and Demi and Linda are getting ready upstairs. By the looks of it, you look ready."
