Williams words stayed glued inside my mind. There was a concept of the game? There was more to it then sleeping with girls and the second part is a secret. The second part makes up the whole game and I was curious to know what it was. Problem was I didn't know where to start looking. I went through the play book rereading all the pages but nothing popped out to me. I even asked Enrique to tell me what it was but he declined.
By the time Friday rolled around I had given up to find out what the concept was. I was standing next to Alejandro awkwardly waiting for Mindy to finish giving us instructions of how we were going to enter the church tomorrow. Ale and I haven't spoken much since I asked him to back off. We acknowledge each other's presence and say hello, other then that we don't have conversations anymore.
Not like we ever had a good conversation go begin with.
"Alright you two." Mindy chirped happily. "I want you to be the first couple to come in. You'll come in once the music starts and line up on the first step over there." She pointed to the altar.
Mindy is a doll and a sneaky girl at the same time. She's been trying to get ale and I to date for months. I don't know where she sees the chemistry between us when it's not even existent. The maid of honor and the best man are suppose to enter together. I was the maid of honor and Ale wasn't. Mandy made the bestman go with one of her cousins behind me and forced Ale to be my partner. We protested against it. Ale wanted to company his cousin and I wanted to be as far away from Ale as possible.
She ignored our protest and pleads. She threw us a evil glare and we shut up quickly. This is her wedding and we will do what she says even if we don't like it at all. I have to be near Alejandro for two hours tomorrow after the ceremony and the pictures I don't have to be around him.
Mindy flipped her brown curly hair to the back, giggling to herself. She was having too much fun playing matchmaker. My eyes landed on Greg, her fiancé who stared at us with a pitiful expression. He knew what she was doing and he didn't want to save us from her.
"Grab his arm." Mindy commanded.
I rolled my eyes and did what she said. "Smile." She gritted through her white teeth. I plastered a fake cheery smile for her. "Thank you. Now walk."
We began walking quickly down the aisle wanting to get this practice over with. "Stop!" She yelled. We hauled dead in our tracks.
"You guys are speed walking as if someone is chasing you. Do it over again."
Ale and I rolled our eyes. "We should do this right and we can leave faster." He whispered as we walked back to the back of the church.
"Okay." I sighed.
Mindy clapped her hands together. "Alright let's do this again. Greg, can you please put on the song being played for the entrance tomorrow?"
"No" we yelled. "No music, we can get this right without music." Ale said.
I grabbed onto his arm and we walked down the aisle, slowly this time. We departed from each other and Ale went to the right and I to the left. We turned to look at Mindy who had heart shaped eyes.
"Aren't they the cutest couple ever?" She giggled.
"We aren't a couple." I snapped.
"Not yet." She muttered.
"Come on Mindy, hurry this up. I have somewhere to be!" Alejandro yelled at her.
The practice went on for another twenty minutes and we were freed from Mindy. My phone kept buzzing the entire time during practice and I hoped it was Lucas. He called this morning saying he was coming in. Unfortunately, the messages were from him but he wasn't going to be able to make it in this weekend. He forgot about a paper due and he was going to be pulling all nighters this weekend to finish it. I sighed heavily.
Xavier ended up giving us passes to Williams party tonight, the girls were going, but I refused to go. I was still rebelling against Xavier. It took him a day to realize how much he needed us now to keep the game running smoothly. With guys handing you jackets all day to change numbers for one person it's too much to do. He had a breakdown in the middle of class and asked us to come back. The girls gave in because everyone who was invited the opening of the club was pumped for it. Its suppose to be the party of the semester.
"Are you going to the party tonight?" I heard Ale's voice behind me. I turned around and he was standing a few feet from me.
I shook my head. "I think I'm staying in."
"Oh. I heard Waller High is having a house party on B-Avenue and I want to go. Clubs aren't much my thing."
"Well, have fun." I said and turned around to open my car door.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go."
"That goes against our agreement." I reminded him. "I thought you said once you walk out you can't walk back in."
"I'm not walking back into your life. It's a party. We can go as strangers. Lucas isn't here and so aren't our friends so no one will be teasing you about you and I." He sounded closer now.
I turned around again and he was now a bit closer to me. I took a step back, pressing my back against my car. Staying home while everyone is out having fun, sounds depressing. It's not like we are going to start going back to how we were. He is keeping his distance and I'm keeping my distance. One night to go out and have fun as two strangers who met can be fun.
"After tonight we go back to ignoring each other. I don't want you to have problems with Lucas." He smiled.
"I can't leave my car here." I told him.
"I can take it." We heard Greg. He walked closer to us. "I'll drop off your car to the house and leave the keys in the glove compartment, you can go."
"Are you sure?" I asked.
He nodded. "Yeah, I'll tell Mindy you guys went to have a pizza. She'll be happy to hear that." He rolled his eyes.
"Okay, thank you. I owe you one." I said, handing him the keys.
"No problem."
I walked with Alejandro towards his truck when I stopped abruptly. "We are playing beer pong and you better not let me down!"
"Got it." He said and grabbed my arm and pulled me towards his truck.
I updated twice in a week..what:O Haha, I'm enjoying the positive feedback from you guys I decided to update again. Make sure to leave me a comment, who knows maybe I'll update again this weekend.;)
