This is a bad idea...a stupid one.
I scold myself as I climbed out of my window, placing my foot on the step of the ladder, I climbed down. I was able to convince my mom to let me out the house last night to see the play but tonight was different. She laughed dryly when I asked her if I could go out with Lucas to a get-together. Considering I still feel guilty about running off with Alejandro and I went to the play, I felt bad telling him I couldn't go.
Sneaking out the house wasn't hard, my room was across the house and my parents don't check up on me during the night. In the afternoon I settled the ladder by the window and explained to Lucas what was going on. We decided it was best if he waited for me down the street where he was out of sight. Xavier wasn't here tonight (not surprised), I didn't want to risk him coming home when Lucas is waiting outside for me.
I grabbed the ladder and threw it to the backyard and made a run for it towards the end of the street. Lucas was sitting on the sidewalk next to his motorcycle. I thought he was bringing his car? He mentioned he was going to bring his car and leave his motorcycle at his parent's house since he left his car there. He was going to drink at the party so how was he planning on bringing me back?
"I thought you were bringing your car," I told him, going into his open arms.
"Yeah, I was running late and I figured it doesn't make a difference if I bring my car or motorcycle." He shrugged.
"It does if you are drinking."
"You sneaked out, I can bring you home in the morning before your parent's wake up." He grinned innocently.
Was he kidding? The party is almost an hour away and if he plans on drinking like a college student he isn't going to wake up early enough to drop me off before my parents get up. Plus, I don't know how I feel about staying the night with him.
He noticed the concern look on my face. "Bad idea, I won't drink. I knew from the moment I was running late drinking was out the window." He brought me closer to him.
"I just want to be with you tonight, I don't need to get drunk to have fun." He gave me a small peck. "Come on, let's go before it gets late." He departed from me and grabbed the extra helmet from behind him.
There are a few things I haven't done in my life and sneaking out the house was one of them. A part of me felt guilty for doing it, if I get caught I'll be grounded until I leave for college. You only live once, right? What will happen if I break a few rules every now and then? I grabbed the helmet and put it on.
"Let's go." I told him.
I gripped onto his hand tightly, trying my best not to bump into people in the hallway. Lucas place was filled with people downstairs and up, it seemed as if the entire town was here. I didn't expect the party to be this pact, I imaged it to be like the party Alejandro took me too. College parties do not compare to high school parties at all.
Lucas opened the door to his left side and we stepped inside his room. He wanted to leave his helmets in his room since he didn't feel comfortable leaving them outside. As soon as the door closed behind me, I let out a sigh of relief. I felt like an outsider at this party, everyone is older than me, dressed differently, and seems to know I'm too young to be in a party like this.
I tried dressing up more adult if that was even possible. I threw an outfit together this morning consisting of ripped skinny jeans and a royal blue crop top. Personally, the outfit was on point yet I doubt it made me look older.
"You okay?" Lucas asked, placing his hands on my hips.
I nodded. "Feels strange being at a college party," I admitted. Being with a college guy meant I'd be attending college parties with him. I figured Lucas wouldn't bring me to the parties considering I was underage to be dating him or drinking.
