Chapter 1

Lila ~when we were in high school~

I hate waking up early. I just hate it. I could spend hours sleeping if I had the chance.
But I have to go to school like every single morning.
I wore my uniform and brushed my hair which by the way was too difficult to brush. It's so curly that you have to spend hours.
I checked the time. If I don't hurry I'll be late and I'll also miss the bus.
- Mornin.
I said arriving to the kitchen.
- Good morning sweetie.
My mother said smiling.
- Good morning Lil.
My father said and I looked angrily at him.
- I have told you not to call me like that.
I said while rolling my eyes.
- But you let this boy in school call you like that.
My sister said winking at me.
- What boy ?
My parents asked with one voice.
No way!
Valerie was my older sister. Specifically she was in third grade of high school and I was in the first. She could be so annoying sometimes.
- Seriously Lil, you should hurry otherwise you'll miss the bus.
Valerie said in an attempt to tease me.
- Shut up Valerie!
I shouted.
- Be nice sweetie.
My mother said but Valerie burst out laughing.
- You will both be late so better hurry.
My father said while taking his bag and leaving the kitchen. He has also to go to work.
I looked angrily at Valerie as he excited and she grimaced.

Valerie and I arrived at school and fortunately we were not late.
She headed to her friends and so did I.
- Good morning.
I said to the group of my classmates.
- Good morning.
Some of them responded.
Brine grabbed my hand.
- You'll never guess.
She screamed.
- What ?
I asked while trying to make my hair in a ponytail.
- Our school is organizing a party this Saturday and....
- And ?
- And we are going.
She said excited.
- Yeah, I'll think about it.
I responded while I saw him crossing the hall.
He was away enough but I spotted him. And I stared at him. We have known each other since junior high school but we have never talked I mean properly. But there was he last week asking me to give him the ball while he kicked it away when playing football. And then we started talking -let alone that we were in the same class at Maths- and because he wanted some help in Maths he asked me to help him but when we finish, we started talking and he asked me if he could call me Lil saying that it suit me and because Valerie was searching for me she heard that and now she's constantly annoying me.
- So what do you say ?
Brine asked.
- Excuse me can you repeat the question because.....
- Because you were absent minded again ?
She said rolling her eyes.
- I'm sorry....I just....
And it was then that I saw Julian waving at me and I did so while blushing.
Brine looked at me raising an eyebrow.
- Since when are you flirting with Julian ?
She asked.
- Since never....we are in Maths together and....
- And the doorbell rang. Damn it Lila. We'll talk later.
She said leaving me.

The day was so boring. And everybody was talking about this party. I thought that it was extremelly boring. Besides a lot of parties take place here in Wolfsburg High School.
They named it like that because it's the biggest junior high school and high school in Wolfsburg and only rich students are allowed here.
I mean if you can afford it then you can take lessons in here.
In lunch time I wasn't really hungry. I headed to the bathroom wanting to make my hair a little. They were so annoying. Curly, black hair, brown eyes and pale skin. That was me.
Brine followed me. Brine and I were friends since junior high school which means three years now. Brine was dying her hair blond and had big black eyes. Brine and I had not much in common for example I tried my hardest to have good marks and I usually had in all lessons whereas she was less than a mediocre student.
Brine and I met in Biology class when we had a project together in our first year in junior high. She came in my house to do the project and we became best friends like that.
- I'm soooo bored.
She commended and I nodded.
- What do you think of my hair ?
I asked her but she ignored me.
- I'll come to your house on Friday so to discuss what we are wearing on Saturday's party.
She said applying lipstick in her lips.
- I never said that I would go to this party.
I complained.
- I said so but you didn't hear me since you were staring at Julian.
She said making a weird expression.
- I wasn't staring at.....
She raised an eyebrow.
- Forget it.
I added and I let her talk about the party.
Apparently every one was talking about this party. I ignored them. It wasn't a big deal after all.

When Maths ended and it was about time we were going home Julian came beside me.
- Are you coming ?
He asked and I looked at him.
- Coming where ?
I asked confused.
- To the party Lil.
He said laughing.
Lil....I hated it but the way he said it....
- I don't know yet.
I said although I knew that I would go. If no Brine was going to kill me....
- That's a shame.
He said smiling.
- Really ?
I asked.
- Yes. We could go together you know.
He said and I felt butterflies in my stomach....at least that's what I think.
- You mean we two ?
- And Brine. I mean she's always with you.
He commented. Well, that was actually true.
- We can go. I'm coming.
I said smiling.
- Perfect. Can't wait. Will you be able to chat later ?
He asked.
- Sure. See you.
I said while Valerie and Brine came to me.
- What's going on between you two ?
Brine asked although I think the answer didn't really interest her.
- Yes, Lil what ?
Valerie asked smirking.
Damn it.
- Lil ?
Brine asked.
- I though you hated it.
She added.
- She did since he called her like that. What's his name really ?
Valerie asked looking at Julian that was now talking with some of his teammates.
- Julian. Julian Draxler.
Brine said looking at him.

- I thought you weren't interested in parties.
Valerie said as we walked inside the house.
- I'm not.
- So why are you going ?
- You know Brine. She insists a lot.
- Or maybe that guy asked you to go with him.
Valerie screamed.
- This guy again ?
My mom asked when she noticed us and I rolled my eyes.
- No. It's not that guy. It's Brine.
I lied.
- You are a terrible liar Lila.
Valerie accussed me heading to her bedroom.
- Which party ?
My mom asked now smiling.
- Our school is organizing one on Saturday and you know.
I said trying to avoid the conversation.
- Party ? I like parties. Especially if they are no boys there.
My father said teasing me.
- I'll disappoint you cause Lila has a date.
Valerie said appearing from her bedroom again.
- A date ?
My father asked surprised.
- Yes, it's called Brine.
I said trying to avoid their looks.
- No, it's called Julian and he's the captain of our football team.
Valerie explained as she took some biscuits to eat.
- A footballer ? You know I played football when I was in high school.....
My father started saying but nobody listened to him.
My phone vibrated and everyone noticed it and they all look at me.
- I have to study.
I said as I headed to my bedroom. I looked at my phone. Julian texted me in messenger.
- Yes study....
Valerie said as I headed to my bedroom....
- Yes, study.
I repeated.
- Study all Julian's texts.
She said bursting out laughing.
