Chapter 12

~Today~

Julian

- Stop it Julian.
Lila said pushing me away.
- I thought you.....
- Just stop it.
She said looking angrily at me.
- I can talk to Thomas if that's what you want.
I said looking at her trying to calm her down.
- No need to. I'll talk to him. You are out of this.
She said and I looked at her confused.
- I don't get why you're acting like that.
I said looking worryingly at her.
- You seriously don't know ? I have soothers all over my neck because you wanted to act as if you're a teenager.
- You're exaggerating.
I said rolling my eyes.
- Just leave Julian. I need some time on my own.
She said and I saw tears filling her eyes.
- I'll come later if you're in the mood of talking.
- I won't be. Not in the mood of talking to you.
She said and I saw a tear running down her face.
- Lila.....
- Leave. Now.
She said and I obeyed. I walked to my room trying to figure out why the hell was she acting like that. She was the one daring me to kiss her although I never kissed her. I just left some soothers to her neck. I locked the door in my room thinking of what should I do. I had only a couple of days here left and I wanted to tell her so much, I wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. After an hour and while I couldn't find any reasonable solution to any of my problems I decided to call at the reception. Lila's voice reassured me that she was still mad especially when I said that it was me. I told her to come in my room because I wanted to talk to her and when she denied I said that I was going to come at the reception causing noise if she didn't obey. She hanged up without saying anything and I waited a long time thinking that she wouldn't come. My nerves were starting to take the best of me and I was about to go at the reception when my door open. I opened it immediately and I saw Lila standing there.
- Thanks for coming.......I.......
- How can I help you mr. Draxler ?
She asked looking away.
- Lila......
I looked at her and I grabbed her hand leading her inside my room before she could say anything.
I locked the door behind her and she looked at me madly.
- You got me into trouble by acting like that.
She screamed.
- Where's mr. Draxler now ?
I asked smirking and she looked at me even more angrily now.
- You're a jerk Julian.
She said turning to leave but I stopped her.
- Where do you think you're going ? We need to talk.
- Okay what ?
She asked impatiently and I thought of it. I didn't want to tell her anything specifically.
- Well, I don't like your behaviour mrs. Johnson and I would like to.....
And before I could finish my sentence she slapped my face.
I looked at her confused and she grimaced looking a little bit afraid.
- I'm sorry Julian. I don't know why I did that. It won't happen again.
She said touching my cheek.
- You're out of your mind sometimes Lila.
I complained looking at her. This whole thing had turned me on and I know that it had the same effect on her as well.
- I'm sorry but Julian, you misunderstood the things between us today.
She said pointing out her neck.
- You dared me to do it Lila.....
I said and I was the one touching her cheek now.
- But we're not in high school.....
She said and I looked at her. Of course we weren't in high school because if we were she would be mine but no....she.......
- Why do you care about Thomas reaction ? You said he wasn't your boyfriend.
- And he isn't......
Lila said rolling her eyes.
- So why do you fucking care ?
I screamed and she backed off.
- Why do you shout at me ?
She whispered. I looked down.
- I shout because you never explain Lila. You don't explain what's going on between you and Thomas you don't explain why you left me when we were in high school.....
I said and I looked down. I never intended to say this.
- Do you still wanna now ?
She asked coming closer to me touching my hand.
- No. I don't care because you're here and.......
She was looking at me like she was waiting for me to say something extraordinary.
- You're engaged.
She whispered and I saw a tear running down her face. I whipped it away with my finger and I kissed her forehead.
- I'm sorry for that.
She burst into tears and I hugged her in an attempt to calm her down.
She was still crying when someone knocked on my door.
I panicked and I look at Lila who has paled.
- Who is it ?
She whispered and I put my hand in her mouth in an attempt to make her shut up.
- Who is it ?
I asked and I heard Kim's voice telling me that she need to talk to me.
- Ahh yes, Kim. Wait a minute please.
I said looking at Lila.
- Julian.......
Lila whispered but I led her to the bathroom.
- Stay here please. If Kim sees you here we are both fucked.
I said and she nodded.
- Julian wait......
She said touching my hand as I turned to leave.
- What ?
I asked but she hesitated.
- Nothing.
She finally said and I took her hand in mine. I kissed it gently and then kissed her forehead.
- Everything will be alright.
I said and I left leaving her there to open at Kim.
- Am I bothering you ?
Kim asked entering the room.
- No.
I said but I grimaced behind her back.
- I need to talk to you about something and I came to ask you first because you always complain that I never ask you about my decisions.
Kim said looking at me seriously.
- Sure Kim. What is it ?
I asked looking all the time at the bathroom door.
- Well, I was wondering if you and Vanessa have time for each other after being engaged.
Kim said but I wasn't paying attention at her.
- Yes......
- The fact is Julian.....you are now engaged and.....
She hesitated a little looking at me.
- Go on Kim.
I said starting to lose my temper.
- Why are you looking at the bathroom door all the time ?
Kim asked looking herself there as well.
- For no reason. Go on please.
- Anyway........you and Vanessa are so happy together and I think that since you are already engaged maybe it's about time for you start organizing a wedding.
Kim said looking at me.
- Are you serious now ?
I asked because suddenly I was paying a lot of attention at her.

- Have you talked with Vanessa about it ?
- I told you. I wanted to ask you first.
Kim said looking at me.
- Kim, I need some time to think about it. This is......I mean I'm not ready for something like that yet.
- That's why I wanted to ask you. You and Vanessa need to take your time and discuss it and......

I asked her sarcastically.
- Yes.
She said looking at me confused.
- You know that Vanessa will love it.
I replied feeling worse than ever. Vanessa would love it me on the other hand......

- For what ?
I asked being confused.
- You didn't want to get engaged. I get it. I shouldn't have insisted.
- The truth is.....
I started saying but I stopped. What was wrong with her ?
- I should leave. Think about what I told you.
She said exciting my room.
- She left ?
Lila said appearing in front of me.
- Yes.
I said smiling at her.
- I should go as well.
She said looking worryingly at me.
- You can if you want.
I said sarcastically.
- Are you okay ?
She asked.
- Yes, fine.
I responded although it was obvious that I hadn't persuade her.
- Okay. You can tell me if you need anything.
- Yes, thank you.
- I'm leaving.
She said again but it was obvious she was hesitating.
She opened the door and and she slowly excited. She stayed at the door staring nervously at me.
- I'm okay Lila. You can go.
I said smiling.
- Okay. If you need anything you know call the hotel room service.
