Chapter 16

~Today~

Julian

I arrived at the hotel again looking at the reception where Lila was not since she was at her house. It was late and I decided to head to my room where I knew I had to give some explanations to Vanessa.
I opened the door finding Vanessa and Kim chatting.
- Julian, guess what!
Vanessa said coming toward me hugging me.
I looked at Kim confused.
- She's drunk.
She explained giving me the death stare.
- You let her drink like that ?
I asked looking at Kim.
- At least I didn't left her alone.
She said looking angrily at me.
- I had to do something important Kim.
- So, important that you didn't say where were you going. She was worried.
- You better shut up Kim.
- Guys stop it. I'm not drunk. I'm fine. Really. It's that Julian baby I missed you. You know Kim said that you went to visit a girl and she was angry but I don't believe it baby. Don't worry.
Vanessa said and it was obvious that she was drunk.
- Damn it Kim she's way too drunk.
- Not my problem Julian. You should take care of your girlfriend you know.
Kim said while leaving.
- We're not over.
I said at the closed door.
- Julian, you know what ? I think you should do what's best for you. I mean if you don't have feelings for me anymore which I don't believe you can leave me.
- Vanessa you're too drunk to chat with me.
I said trying to put her in the bed.
- I'm not tired.
She said giggling.
- Yes, you are.
I said and I sat at the bed waiting for her to fall asleep.

- Who the hell is it ?
Kim said opening her room door.
- Did you expect anybody else ?
I asked sarcastically.
- Julian, it's three in the morning. What's so important ?
She asked being tired.
- Don't worry. I'll be short. Why the fuck did you say to Vanessa that I went to find another girl ?
- I didn't.
- She told me so.
- She was drunk Julian.
- And that's why I believe her.
- Are you finished ?
She asked rolling her eyes.
- Not really. I've warned you a couple of times but it seems like you don't get it.
- Am I lying Julian ? Where were you ?
I didn't respond and I looked down and I think that made Kim understand how guilty I was.
- It's none of your bussiness.
I finally said.
- Of course it is. I'm your manager.
- You're my manager not.....anyway. Leave it like this. I don't want to cause any trouble in the middle of the night.
I said turning to leave.
- Who the hell is she Julian ? Why are you obsessed with her ?
Kim asked desperately.
- Stop it Kim.
- No. Since we came here you've changed. Why ? Is it because of the engagement ? What's really wrong Julian ?
- Nothing. And I won't discuss that with you believe me.
- You can trust me you know that.
- No, I can't and you prove that again tonight.

I woke up the next morning having a terrible headache. I didn't sleep well last night. A lot of nightmares woke me up a lot of times. Vanessa was sleeping beside me and I decided not to wake her up. Not after what happened yesterday.
I went to the bathroom doing my morning routine and then went at the lobby for breakfast. I didn't feel hungry anymore when I saw Lila at the reception. She noticed me pretty fast and looked away. I know I should head away from her but I just couldn't.
- Good morning.
I said heading toward her.
- Good morning mr. Draxler.
She said looking at the whole lobby.
- We're the two of us now Lila you can call me Julian.
I said rolling my eyes.
- Julian, people come over here all the time. I don't want none of them see us.
- Have you thought what I told you yesterday ?
I asked ignoring her previous comment.
She nodded.
- But I still need time.
- What do you want me to do Lil ? I'll do whatever. Ask me to leave Vanessa and I'll do so.
I said and she looked surprised at me.
- I can't ask you to do such thing.
- You can. And I really wish you had the guts to do it.
I said touching her hair, then her face.
- Julian, I don't think you get what's going on here. You can't leave Vanessa just to be with me.
- Why not ?
I asked coming closer to her.
- Because you can't. You'll hurt her and I don't want to be the reason.
She said but I didn't pay attention at her sayings anymore. My eyes were focused on her lips.
- You overthink things Lil. You always did.
I said and I placed a soft kiss at her lips.
- Mr.Draxler I was searching for you.
Kim's voice came from behind me.
- Kim......
- I wanted you to sign some contracts that were sent from your club.
She said looking away.
- Do I have to do this now ?
I asked trying to detect her expression.
- If you're not preoccupied.....
She said looking at Lila.
Lila looked down immediately blushing.
- Fine.
I said following her but before touching Lila's hand.
Of course I knew that Kim didn't want me to sign any contracts. And she proved that immediately.
- I can pretend that this never happened.
She said looking away.
- Not that I owe you any explanations Kim but it was really not what you think.
- I saw you Julian. Saw you kissing. And I'm pretty sure it's not the first time.
She said looking away.
- Lila and I.....
- I don't care about Lila. It's you that I don't get. You're engaged Julian. You're getting married soon.....
- Am I doing what ?
Kim blushed and looked down.
- Vanessa found the suggestion about your wedding good.
She explained and I panicked.
- I'm not ready to get married.
I said still panicked.
- I can see that.
- No, Kim you don't get it. I don't want to get married.
- Why ? Don't you love Vanessa ?
- I'm too young for a wedding Kim.
- Do you want to be free to make out with girls like Lila ?
She asked looking angrily at me.
- You don't understand.
- Enlighten me then cause I don't get what Lila has but Vanessa doesn't.
- This has nothing to do with Vanessa.
I said looking away.
- So ?
- I need some time to think.
- I agree but this is not the right place.
- What do you mean ?
I asked panicked.
- I'll book another hotel for our staying here. We're leaving this place.
- Why ?
- Cause you can't think clear here. I'll search for a hotel far away from here and we can stay there and you'll have time to think as much as you like.
- We can stay here. There's no need to change hotels besides Vanessa will understand that something is wrong if we move.
- She won't. Leave that to me.
Kim said walking away. I never planned of this. I can't lose Lila. Not now that I found her again. I had to do something immediately.

- Hey baby, where have you been ?
Vanessa asked as I entered our room.
- I needed some time to think.
- Is everything alright ? You look upset.
- I'm fine Vanessa. What about you ? You drunk like hell last night.
- Yeah, I know. I'm sorry for that. Have I caused any troubles ?
She asked turning red and looking down.
- No, not really.
I replied hugging her.
- Thanks God.
She said and someone knocked at our door.
- Come in.
Vanessa said and Kim entered our room.
She looked surprised when she saw me as if we hadn't talked a few moments ago.
- Glad you're both here.
Kim said smiling.
- What's the big deal Kim ?
Vanessa asked.
- Yes, Vanessa you won't believe it but I found a hotel near the studio you work and it's much more cheaper than this one.
Kim said pointing out our room.
- Oh, you're a little late Kim.
Vanessa said smiling.
- Not actually, I asked for two rooms and they said that we could move tomorrow if we want.
Kim said avoiding to look at me.
- But I like it here.
Vanessa said and Kim looked at me.
- I'm sorry Vanessa. I should tell you the real reason of why I wanted us to move.
Kim said still looking at me.
No, that was bad. I looked at Kim not able to believe that she was going to tell everything.
- Sure.
Vanessa replied hugging me tight.
- I'm not satisfied with their service.
Kim said and I felt relieved. At least she shut her mouth. For now.
