Chapter 14

~Today~

Julian

The morning light woke me up. I looked beside me seeing Lila sleeping. How many times have I thought of us sleeping together and how many times I realized this could only be in my fantasy. I looked outside the window realizing it didn't rain anymore. That meant that Vanessa could come back anytime. I thought of waking Lila up but I regreted. She seemed so tired and peaceful while sleeping. I made an attempt to move and Lila opened her eyes.
- Where are you going ?
She asked grabbing my hand.
- Good morning Lila.
I said smiling.
- Good morning.
She replied touching her hand.
- What ....?
- I have a headache.
She said and I nodded.
- Maybe we should go downstairs have some breakfast.
I said in an attempt to both of us leave the room in case Vanessa came back.
- Sure.
She said yawning.

While having breakfast I looked around to see Vanessa coming but fortunately she was nowhere to be found. Lila on the other hand looked exhausted.
- I should start working. If I find any uniform.
She said pointing out her clothes that weren't wet anymore.
I nodded looking at her. She was acting as nothing happened yesterday which made me curious.
- So, Lila......
- Julian.
We both said together laughing.
- You first.
I said and she nodded.
- Thanks for what you did yesterday. It means a lot.
- Yes, it means a lot for me Lila too....maybe we....
- There's no we Julian. That's what I was trying to tell you.
- What do you mean ?
- I suggest to forget about it.
- Lila.....
Her words caught me by surprise. I only kissed her, and I wanted to do a lot more.
- Julian, you're engaged, and I don't want to be the reason of your destroying engagement. Besides......
She was hesitating.

- Besides I really do have feelings for Thomas.
I looked at her with an open mouth. She had feelings for Thomas ? Since when ?

I repeated trying to understand what she was talking about.

She said without looking at me.
- Of course you have. That's what I wanted to tell you previously Lila. We can forget anything that happened.
She smiled making me feel worse. So, she believed what she was saying.
- Thanks Julian. I got to go.
She said leaving me alone. I can't believe she really meant what she said. Not after everything we been through.
I looked down when I felt a hand in my shoulder.

Vanessa said kissing me.
- Hey baby.
I said smiling.
- You can't imagine how my night was!
She said sitting to a chair next to me.
You can't imagine how my night was either.
I thought to myself.
- The studio was filled with people since nobody could go home. We couldn't even breathe.
Vanessa said but she stopped when she noticed that I didn't pay attention to her.
- It sounds really bad.
I said so not for her to understand that I was thinking something else.
Vanessa looked at the table.
- Kim ate with you ?
She asked while seeing Lila's plates.
- Kim....no.....I....I was really hungry.
I said but I don't think she believed me. In fact she raised an eyebrow.
- I'm so glad you too are finally get along.
Vanessa said smiling.
- Yes.
It was the only thing I could say.
- Anyway, I should change and I also need some sleep.
She said leaving but before she kissed me.

After sitting so much time at the table thinking about what Lila said I decided to go to the room as well. I crossed reception where Lila was already working. She smiled when she saw me and that made me feel worse. She really meant what she said. How could she ?
- Julian, wait.
She said and I walked toward her.
- What is it ?
I asked looking away.
- Vanessa said to give you that.
She said giving me Vanessa's coat.
I took it and I turned to leave.
- Anything else ?
I asked sarcastically.
- No, why ?
- Leaving.
I said but she continued.
- Why are you....I don't know ? Sad ?
- I'm not sad Lila.
- It seems like it. If I can do anything......
- Yes, you can. You can shut the fuck up cause you had already done enough don't you think ? You play with other people's feelings and you aren't even sorry....and....
She was looking shocked at me I couldn't resist. I grabbed her and kissed her. She didn't back of making me think that she was lying previously.

Meghan said coming from nowhere.
- It's okay Meghan.
I said looking at Lila who was avoiding to look at me.
She smiled at Meghan who was looking at us as if we were crazy.
- Mr. Draxler was searching for uhm....
- For this coat.
I said helping her to find her words.
- Ohh sure uhm okay. Anything else we can do mr. Draxler.....
Meghan said raising an eyebrow. She was having fun by that.
- No, you were very.....helpful thank you.
I said looking at Lila who was looking down.
- I'll come later.
I whispered at Lila's ear and she paled. She was feeling insecure and I left. I headed to my room where I found Vanessa talking with Kim.
- You told that ? And how did he react ?
Vanessa asked and I found the chance to eardrop.
- You know.....like he always reacts.
Kim said and they both laughed.
- I think Julian doesn't want to marry me.
Vanessa said and I understood she was sad.
- Of course she wants Vanessa, it's just that.....
- Hello girls.
I said pretending I just walked into the room.
- Hello baby.
- Hello Julian.
They both said at the same time.
- Vanessa your coat....
I said and she smiled.
- Thanks.
- I should leave. See you guys.
Kim said exciting but previously looking at Vanessa as if she was telling her something.
Vanessa nodded and then she looked at me.

- I know what Kim did.
I interrupted her looking away.
- And you....
- Vanessa it's not the right time for it okay ? I promise to discuss that with you some time. Just not now.
- Okay.
Vanessa said looking at me trying to understand how was I feeling by my expression.
- You better take some sleep.
I said kissing her forehead.
- Or we can spend some time together.....
She said kissing me.
- No, you need to take some sleep.
I said leading her to our bed.
- You're avoiding me Julian.
She said her voice shaking.
- I'm not. You're tired. Sweet dreams.
I said and she looked at me.
- You can stay here if you want.
- I know. I'll come in a moment. I need to do something first.
- Julian.....
- I'll come Vanessa I promise.
I said exciting before she could tell anything else.
Unfortunately for me I bumped into Kim who was talking at the phone. She whispered me to wait and when she hanged up she looked at me.
- Julian, I don't know if you talked with Vanessa.....
- I talked but I thought you hadn't talked with her about that.
She blushed.
- Well, I just informed her....
- I told you to be careful with what you're doing Kim.
I said staring angrily at her.
- Julian, you shouldn't act like that. If it wasn't for me....
- If it wasn't for you I could leave a fucking normal life with Lila.

Kim asked and I looked at her.
- What ?
- You said Lila. You said that if it wasn't for me you could leave a normal life with Lila. You said it. I've heard it. Who's Lila ?
I paled. I called Lila's name by accident. I knew that this was the end. Kim could make anything to find out who's Lila.
- Vanessa. I said Vanessa Kim.

- Julian, promise me you won't do anything. Vanessa loves you, you can't hurt her like that.

She said looking worryingly at me.
I walked away. Enough with Kim. And it was the first time that I wanted her to say everything to Vanessa. But I knew she wouldn't cause Kim was there just to destroy my life.
