Chapter 23

~You shouldn't blame yourself about the things you did in the past cause back then you didn't know what you know now~

~Today~

Lila

- Thomas, what are you doing here ?
I asked but it wasn't really necessary.
- I came to see you. Is that so bad ?
He asked smiling.
- No.....
I responded after a minute of hesitation.
- Are you okay ? You seem down.
- I'm fine. I need to get rid of my uniform. I'll be back in a minute.
I informed him heading to the changing room.
- Lila, here you are. I need to give you something.
Cody said looking at me.
- Sure. What can I do for you ma'am ?
- Someone left something for you.
- Someone ?
I asked with a shaky voice.
- A woman. Actually I think she was the one causing trouble a few days ago.
I nodded while forgetting to breathe.
- What is it ?
I couldn't stop the curiosity in my voice.
- Something like a note....she told me to give it to you. It's in the changing room, I left it in your coat.
- Okay. Thanks ma'am.
I said and I hastily opened the changing's room door scaring Meghan.
- Lila, you scared me.
- I'm sorry. I need to find something.
I said searching in my coat thinking that maybe it was something proving that indeed Julian left me.
- Can you re-
- Here it is.
I said finding a whole envelope.
- What is it ?
Meghan asked raising her eyebrows.
That's a good question.
I thought to myself.
- I....I don't really know. I guess.....
- Open it Lila.
Meghan said and I did as she said.
I felt my eyes filling with tears as I saw what was in there.
Photos of me and Julian walking together, being in a restaurant, kissing in his car. I felt like vomiting and Meghan came closer to me.
- What are all these about ?
She asked looking at the photos.
- I don't know.
I responded as I felt a tear running down my cheek.
Meghan took the envelope from my hands and searched inside of it.
- There's a note in here.
She announced and I whipped away my tears.
- Give it to me please.
I said and she obeyed.
- Who's it from ?
She asked and I read the note while getting paled.

Make sure you won't contact with Julian again, because I'll let these photos be published and they'll have a huge impact both at Julian's carreer and also at his personal life. What's more I'll make sure you'll get fired and that you'll never find a job in the whole Germany. Discard your telephone number and delete all your social accounts and we'll be fine. If you really love Julian you'll do it besides it's not the first time you do something like that. You should immediately do what I said. The sooner you do it the earlier I'll leave you alone.

I looked at Meghan who was reading the letter as well.
- I need to change.
I said undressing myself from the uniform, wearing my casual clothes while trying to calm down. Cody said that it was the lady that caused trouble a few days ago which only lead us to Kim.
My eyes were hurting as the tears were ready to explode.
- Who was it from Lila ?
- Julian's manager.
- And what are you going to do now ?
Meghan asked looking worryingly at me.
- I'll do as she said. Julian's carreer is threatened.
I said while thinking that maybe Julian was forced to leave me so, he didn't technically left me.
- I think she's bluffing. Why to risk her client's carreer ?
- I don't know but I also don't want to learn why.
I said grabbing my things and heading to reception, where I find Cody talking with a client.
- Excuse me ma'am can I talk to you for a second ?
I asked faking a smile.
- It should wait Lila. I'm talking with a client now.
Cody said raising an eyebrow.
- I just need my phone back.
I whispered at her and she nodded.
- I'll bring it to you.
Cody replied because she had taken my phone previously.
I nodded heading to where Thomas was.
- Should I drive you home ?
He asked.
- Just wait a minute.
I said as cheerfully as I could.
- Okay.
Thomas said smiling at me but I avoided his gaze.
- I'm leaving Lila. If you need any help with.....
Meghan started but then looked at Thomas.
- I'll call you.
I said and she hugged me.
- I'll wait.
She whispered at me while exiting.
After a while Cody came holding my phone in her hands.
- Make sure, it won't call again while you're working.
She said and I nodded. I didn't even have the energy to respond. I headed outside the hotel while Thomas followed me.
- Why so hasty Lila ?
He asked.
- I need to go home.
I responded getting in his car. He did the same thing starting the engine.
- Is everything alright ?
He asked and I nodded while cheking my phone. I had a missing call from Julian and as much as I'd like to call him back I decided not to. I could risk me being without a job for the rest of my life -although that would make me broke- but surely I couldn't risk Julian's carreer since it meant a lot to him. After all Kim was right.
I had done that before.
- Everything's fine.
I responded while taking my sim card from my phone and discarding it.
Thomas looked at me with raised eyebrows.
- Have I missed something ?
He asked.
- Not much.
I responded avoiding his gaze.
- Have you fought with Julian ?
He asked and I looked at him.
- Why do you think that this has to do with Julian ?
- Because you discarded your sim card and I thought that maybe Julian left you to head back in Wolfsburg and you got angry and now you're trying to find a permanent solution for....this.
He said and I looked at him.
- Something like that.
I finally said knowing that I couldn't tell Thomas what was really going on and I didn't want to after all.
- So, has Julian indeed head back ?
He asked bitting his lip. This was something he did when he was really concerned about something.
- Yes.
I responded while trying not to show him that I knew that he was interested in learning more about the subject.
He drove the rest of the way with both of us being silent but he interrupted the silence as long as he parked outside my house.
- Have you and Julian broke up ?
He asked taking my hands in his.
- It's none of your bussiness.
I responded taking my hands away.
- It is Lila.
- Julian and I were never together.....
- But you said.....
- Forget what I said. It's over. I've got to go.
- I'm sorry.
- Bye Thomas.
I said leaving his car and heading hastily to my appartment.
I unlocked the door and before doing anything else I read Kim's letter again and again.
I still wanted to hear Julian's voice. But I wasn't so selfish. I opened my computer deleting all my accounts as Kim's letter said so. I don't really know how that was going to help but I guess Kim knew. If only I could kill Kim. I would do it with happiness. But still.....I wanted to talk to Julian. It must be a way for that. I just had to come up with some kind of idea. I knew that I should do as Kim said but how could I ? Besides Julian has broken up with his girlfriend. Maybe Kim wanted them to be back together.
Or maybe Julian lied.
I thought to myself.
The truth is, it seemed like he had lied. I couldn't accept that he broke up with his girlfriend and he immediately came to me. I know I should do something.
I headed to the bathroom taking a shower. I've never felt more betrayed in my life before and the stupid fact is I know I shouldn't feel this way. I should have left things the way they were. Julian and I should have never slept together. Julian and I should have never reveal that we know each other. Julian and I should have never kissed. Julian and I should have never dated, even when in high school. But most importantly Julian and I should have never met. Ever.
