Chapter 22

~Today~

Julian

- My head's killing me.
I commented while sitting beside Kim in the airplane.
- You'll be home soon. Aren't you excited ? Cause I am.
Kim replied smiling like a total idiot.
I looked at her in disbelief. This girl had definitely no clue what was really going on.
- You know Kim the fact that you won't say anything to Vanessa surprises me mainly because you do tell Vanessa everything.
I said looking at her so to detect her expression.
- And why should I do something like that Julian ? You won't see this girl again.
She replied closing her eyes.
That's what you think.
I thought to myself.
I had already decided that I was going to try for me and Lila mainly because I know I won't manage to get her out of my mind since I saw her again.
I had also decided that I should break up with Vanessa as long as she'll finish with her movie. I can't lie to her anymore, she doesn't deserve it and neither does Lila.
- When you said you knew why Lila left me back then what did you actually mean ?
I asked Kim in an attempt to learn something that I could find usefull. Kim had always her way of learning things so I was pretty sure she knew more details about the topic than I did, and that made me even more mad since I couldn't handle it.
- She moved here.
Kim said with her eyes still closed.
- Only that ?
I asked and she nodded.
Maybe Lila just wanted to break up with me and her moving was the perfect justification.
I closed my eyes as well being way too tired. Moments after I had fallen asleep.

I unlocked my house's door and Kim followed me inside.
- I can't believe I can't find my keys.
She said still searching in her bag.
I ignored her praying silently to find them cause if she didn't I had to offer her my place to spend the night and the last thing I wanted was Kim to stay here.
- When is Vanessa finishing with the movie ?
I asked out loud although that was supposed to be only a thought of mine.
- I don't know, I hope soon cause we really need to discuss your wedding details.
Kim said still searching for her keys.
- My wedding details.....
I replied being absent minded while thinking of Lila and.....
- I found them!
Kim screamed happily.
- Well done.
I said.
You can fucking leave now.
I thought to myself.
- Fortunately, anyway I'm leaving Julian. You have to rest a little cause you'll have a hectic day tomorrow.
She said and I nodded although I wasn't really paying attention at her sayings.
- Okay, good night.
I manage to say leading her to the door.
- Good night Julian.
She said but she didn't make a move to leave.
- What ?
I asked being annoyed this time.
- Nothing. I'm so happy we're back.
She said and before I could say anything else she kissed my cheek.

I tried to call Lila as soon as Kim was out of my house. She didn't respond. Maybe she's working.
I thought to myself.
I decided to take a shower and unpack my things so to kill sometime before calling her again. I was pretty sure she was mad that I left like that but because it was Lila I knew that she would be willing to forget if I asked her so.
On the other hand leaving like that maybe was better for me cause honestly I don't think I had the guts to say to Lila face to face that I should head back although she insisted. And I know I had to think of my carreer because it should always be my first priority but Lila was always the first in my head, in my heart and I don't think this was ever going to change.

It was late when I decided to have some sleep because I was exhausted. I tried to call Lila's cell phone but for some reason she had shut her phone down. Maybe she was mad at me but this was way too much, I started worrying about her.
I checked my e-mails thinking that maybe she tried to contact with me like that but I only found one from Vanessa saying that she missed me and that she was coming back home immediately as long as she finishes with her movie.
I replied to her saying that I missed her too and that I couldn't wait to see her again but it seemed fake even to me, and I really don't know why Vanessa hasn't already broke up with me.

The next day was way too boring. The morning practise was a nightmare for me since I couldn't concentrate and it seemed like I would be at the bench for our next match but I guess that this was more than fair. What's more I had to face all the stupid comments my teammates were making just to tease me about my engagement with Vanessa. I was laughing at all of them thinking how stupid the situation was knowing that I should give my engagement an end before it was too late.

Coming back from practise I tried to call Lila again but it was impossible to find her. I had to learn what was going on cause I knew myself well enough to know that I couldn't relax if I wouldn't hear her voice.
I took a shower and wrapped a towel all over my wrists when the doorbell rang.
I wondered who might be thinking first of all about Lila but knowing that this could only be in my fantasy.
Of course Kim was standing at the door looking at me while raising her eyebrows.
- Is that how you welcome your guests ?
She asked staring at my naked chest.
- No. I only welcome you like that since you're never invited but you always tend to show up here.
I commented smiling sarcastically at her.
- I won't be long.
She said coming inside and making me follow her.
- Fine. You have five minutes.
I said smirking.
- Very funny Julian.
She said looking accidentally I think at my chest again and then looking at my eyes.
- I'm still waiting.
I said and for the first time in my life I saw Kim blushing.
- Yes, right. Well, I've found some possible dates for your wedding but I wanted you to check them first and decide, besides the wedding will be closed, I don't want any.....you know....paparazzi or these kind of stuff.
She said lowering her voice as she was finishing her sentence and looking at me.
- Fine. I'll check them. Thanks for coming.
I replied smiling not being able to believe that she was thinking that I took any of what she said seriously.
- Have you talked with Vanessa lately ?
She asked and I don't think she was really interested in learning.
- Yes, I did.
I replied looking at her.
- And is she coming back any time soon ?
She asked avoiding my staring.
- As soon as she finishes with the film.
I replied remembering Vanessa's e-mail.
- Good.
Kim said bitting her lip.
- Anything else ?
I asked sarcastically.
Kim lowered her eyes and for the first time I thought that maybe she was shy actually.
Yeah, who am I trying to fool ? It was my naked chest that made her act like that and the truth is I hadn't realized I had this effect on her earlier.
- No. I'm leaving.
She finally said heading to the door.
- See you.
I said closing the door but I heard her also say see you.

This day had almost come to an end and Lila hadn't try to contact with me. In fact it was more than obvious that she was avoiding me. The weird fact was that she had delete all her accounts in social media and I don't know what to think anymore. Could she do all these just because she's avoiding me ? Has she regretted everything and she's trying to make it clear to me ? Well at least she could tell that to me but because it's Lila we're talking about I know that she would prefer to leave me wondering and I know that because she had already did that in the past. Supposedly she was more talkative back then. But I don't care about what Lila's trying to do cause this time it's me that I won't let her leave.
