Chapter Twelve

~Lucifer~

Sam hesitantly followed me to behind a large, abandoned building. We couldn't risk running into any demons.

Sam folded his arms and looked at me expectantly.

"Well?" Sam asked impatiently, "What do I need to know?"

"Something's happening".

"Could you be a little less vague?" Sam requested with a hint of sarcasm.

"Don't tell me you just had sex with Ruby and didn't even consider why she was back?" I snapped with a bit too much anger in my voice, "That was really stupid. I didn't expect that kind of thing from you".

"What are you talking about?" Sam argued, "So what? I slept with a demon...again. But why does that bother you?"

"Because you're falling right into their trap, Sam!" I nearly shouted.

"Their?" Sam asked.

"I don't exactly know why it's happening", I started, "But something is going on. From what I've seen, loads of people seem to be coming back from the dead. Although not just ordinary citizens. People that you and Dean know, whether they're enemies or friends. I'm pretty sure that's why I'm back. But I don't know why".

"You're talking like you're against them", Sam raised an eyebrow.

"Of course I'm against them", I shook my head at his cluelessness, "They're trying to steal my spotlight. I was the one that was supposed to torture you. I was the one that mysteriously came back from Hell".

"Lucifer, you can't seriously be jealous of people overshadowing you, can you?" Sam asked with a small smirk on his lips. He looked like he was on the verge of bursting out laughing.

"Shut up", I angrily said, "You're missing the point".

"Okay, okay", Sam held his hand against his mouth for a few seconds to hide a small laugh, "So, you're saying that suddenly a bunch of dead people Dean and I know are just gonna turn up?"

"Exactly".

Sam stopped laughing and his expression turned serious.

"So then-" Sam paused to think about it, his eyes becoming half sad and half hopeful.

"What?" I asked.

"Does this mean..." Sam's voice trailed off, "Does this mean my parents could come back?"

"How am I supposed to know?" I said but in a calm tone, "Just go back to Dean. Talk to him about it".

I gave him a long, hard look before teleporting away. But then suddenly remembering something, I quickly teleported back again. He gave me a questioning look.

"Sorry, I almost forgot something", I apologised.

I grabbed his shirt collar harshly and punched him roughly right in the middle of his face. He groaned and held his face before staring at me with outrage and confusion.

"That's for making me save your stupid ass from getting killed", I snapped and he wiped away the blood with the back of his hand.

Before I disappeared, I gave him my signature smirk.

"Plus, I didn't want you to think I was going soft on you", I added with a wink before I, yet again, teleported away.
