~Lucifer~

Oh, screw this. I was going to go and see Sam.

I felt like a heartbroken teenager trying to get over a breakup and forbidding themselves from seeing that one person again.

As soon as I arrived at Sam and Dean's house, I was suddenly aware that it was morning. Being an angel who never slept, I didn't keep count of the day and night. It wasn't even the fact that it was daylight. It was because I noticed Sam's hair was all messed up, just like when he woke up after his drunken night in the room I teleported us in.

Sam glanced at me from over his laptop, completely used to my random appearances by now.

"Go away", Sam exhaled, bringing his coffee to his mouth and drinking.

"You're no fun", I pouted but then made my expression turn serious, "Are you feeling any better?"

"Like you care", Sam scoffed, typing away on his laptop furiously.

"Oh, give it a rest already, Sam", I rolled my eyes and folded my arms, "What were you expecting? I'm Lucifer. What was I supposed to do? Bathe you in a field of happiness surrounded by flowers? Take you on an adventure through rainbow land and fairy-"

"Okay, I get it", Sam interrupted me, "But what did you expect? I'm not exactly just going to be nice to you after you stabbed me, am I?"

"I'm just confused as to why you seemed shocked", I shrugged.

"I'm not", Sam muttered, "Just leave me alone".

I uncrossed my arms and frowned at him.

"Come with me", I said simply.

"What?" Sam asked, "No!"

"Sam-"

"Oh, wait, let me guess", Sam said sarcastically, "You're just going to force me to go anyway".

"No, I'm not", I replied truthfully.

"Then why are you here?" Sam asked with annoyance.

"I...I don't know", I paused, furrowing my eyebrows with confusion.

"That's a first", Sam raised his eyebrows, "No smart remarks? No flirty jokes? Just I don't know".

I didn't reply and I couldn't figure out why I had nothing to say. I usually was full of sarcasm but nothing came to mind this time.

"So, how many people have you killed today?" Sam asked as if it was an everyday question which, in my case, it was.

"Only two", I moaned, feeling a sense of shame.

"You're getting softer", Sam commented and I thought I saw him smile for a second.

"Shut up", I snapped, "No, I'm not".

"Who was it?"

"A man and a woman", I answered.

"What did they do wrong?"

Sam's voice was dull and careless as he clicked on his laptop, his eyes glued to the screen.

"The man was just a dick", I replied, "The woman kissed me".

Sam stopped clicking and his eyes stayed still.

"She kissed you, huh?" Sam asked with an odd stiffness in his voice, "I didn't think you were the romantic type".

"Well, I wouldn't really call killing her romantic", I stifled a laugh.

"Did you kiss her back?" Sam questioned, his eyes still avoiding mine.

"Only for a few seconds", I shrugged, watching him with curiosity, "Why?"

"I just can't picture it", Sam said, his tone of voice still flat, "You actually participating in human contact like that".

I shoved my hands into my pockets and leant against the wall.

"I can help you imagine it more clearly if you'd like".

Sam finally averted his gaze from the laptop and looked at me. I smirked at him with a wink.

"And he's back", Sam rolled his eyes and shut his laptop before standing up to stretch his arms out.

"Look, just come with me", I pleaded with a whine in my voice.

"Where?" Sam asked, yawning.

It was strange how Sam could go from glaring at me constantly to acting so casual. I have a hard time keeping up.

"I...I think I found a job for you", I quickly said.

"That's great", Sam exhaled, "Just tell me where to go and I'll do it by myself".

"Sam, you're so independent", I smiled sarcastically, "No. We're both going".

"And why should I trust you?" Sam folded his arms stubbornly.

"You shouldn't", I laughed, "Look at it this way. If you don't come with me, people will most definitely die. If you do, you'll save a few lives".

"Blackmail", Sam nodded as if he expected it, "How original".

"Okay, I'll see you soon then", I turned around and moved to the door.

As soon as my hand grabbed the door handle, Sam sighed dramatically.

"Fine".

I smirked for a few seconds with satisfaction before regaining my serious expression and turning back to him.

"If you insist", I faked a smile, "I mean, it's really up to you what-"

"Just shut up", Sam snapped with annoyance and pushed past me to the door, "You coming then or what?"
