Dean, Cas and Crowley left. I would've gone with them but I needed to do some serious thinking.

After I kissed Lucifer, I speedily walked back to the car and drove off. In other words, I ran away. I was a coward. Sometimes Lucifer was all I ever wanted to think about. But other times I desperately wished for him to get out of my head. Right now, I was feeling the effects of both.

Dean and Cas were gone for hours. Most of the day, actually. I made the most of my free time by researching about possible job opportunities. I always found it better to browse in silence, without Dean pestering me in the background.

The day flew by and, all of a sudden, it was 10:00PM and they were still nowhere to be seen. Crowley must have needed their help for something big.

There was a knock at the door and I sighed heavily because I couldn't catch a break for one day. I was actually enjoying this solitary confinement for once.

Standing up straight, I went to answer the door and every part of my body felt weak for a millisecond when Lucifer stood opposite me with a genuine smile.

"You're...knocking on the door?" I asked, curious as to why he didn't teleport right in front of me like he usually did.

"It felt more normal", Lucifer let himself in, casually strolling past me.

"Since when do you want to be normal?"

It was a complicated situation. We had kissed a few times by now but we had never truly spoken about it. Now there was a lingering tension between us and it was becoming more and more difficult to think of anything to say. Everything felt awkward on my behalf but Lucifer was talking to me like nothing had even happened.

"Come on, then", Lucifer gestured towards the front door and watched me expectantly.

"What?"

"Well, we're not just gonna sit around here all day in silence", Lucifer explained with a certain look in his eyes that told me he was feeling nervous too but he didn't want to show it, "I'm driving this time. I've been playing car games for the past two nights so I should be able to drive without killing too many people. There was this one game. I can't remember what it was called but it's really addictive. There might have been a guy called Trevor? I don't know but I blew up a meth lab and-"

"What are you talking about?" I stopped him from babbling, "Where are we going?

"It wouldn't be fun if you knew", Lucifer shrugged and bounced excitedly back to the door, "You're coming, right?"

"You're actually asking for once?" I stared at him with bewilderment, "Is someone possessing you?"

"No, I'm possessing someone", Lucifer reminded me before repeating his words, "So, you're coming, aren't you?"

Taking everything in, I looked around the dull room I had been in all day. Then, I looked back at Lucifer and immediately knew that, whatever it was he had planned, it would definitely be more fun than sitting in here in front of my laptop for the rest of the night.

"Fine", I gave in and Lucifer's lips turned up into a grin.

"You won't regret it!" Lucifer promised and turned to get in the Impala.

"Dean would be horrified if he knew that you were driving his car", I laughed at the thought.

"I'll try not to crash it", Lucifer said, getting comfortable in his seat and holding the wheel with exhilaration.

Wearily, I sat down in the passenger seat and secretly clenched the side of my chair because of the fact that Lucifer of all people was driving which set off a panic trigger inside me. Especially after what happened last time.

Lucifer enthusiastically stepped his foot down on the acceleration and the car sped off into the road, much quicker than usual. I never thought I'd see the day where someone drove quicker than my brother.

A road trip with Satan. What had my life become?

"Please tell me we're not going on a murder spree", I pleaded, relaxing into my seat a little because he was slowing down, "I know what your idea of fun is".

"As much as I'd love to, that'd be a no", Lucifer reassured me, already running a red light.

"You have to stop when the light is red!" I told him, slight panic in my voice.

"But, on the game I was playing, the police only come after you if you kill people", Lucifer frowned at me with confusion.

"That's a game!" I argued, quickly pointing so that Lucifer turned his eyes back to the road again before he missed a turn, "You're going to be the death of me".

Lucifer concentrated for a few seconds and I could tell he was trying to drive correctly. When it fell silent, I hesitated to ask the next unspoken question that was lingering in the air.

"Lucifer?" I reluctantly asked.

"What?" Lucifer replied.

He stopped at a red light and turned to me like a dog wanting to be rewarded for obeying. I gave him a small nod of approval and he smiled proudly.

Knowing that I had to ask, I sighed deeply.

"Are we really not going to talk about earlier?" I finally asked and Lucifer's smile faded.

"I've learnt that sometimes it's best to just live in the moment and sort out all the talking later", Lucifer replied, "And that's exactly what we're doing today. We're gonna forget about what's right and what's wrong for a moment and just have fun".
