~Dean~
Cas pouted when I stopped the car and the music stopped playing. He was recently taking an interest into what songs I liked.
We both left the car and, as I reached out to open the door to the apartment, Cas' hand grabbed my arm softly to stop me. I looked down at his hand then back up to his face.
"Dean", Cas spoke, letting go of my arm.
I stared at him expectantly and Cas half smiled.
"Thank you", Cas said shyly.
"For what?" I asked.
"For today", Cas replied, "I have no idea how you managed to make me enjoy being a human for a whole hour but you did".
"Don't mention it", I slapped his shoulder lightly, "Look, Cas. You're gonna get your grace back. I know that it's important to you to remain an angel".
"Yes", Cas nodded unsurely, "I know".
"But, for now, you're gonna actually have to do all the human stuff that you didn't do before", I told him, "Like eating, drinking, sleeping and sex".
Cas' eyes darted towards me.
"Sex is a necessity?" Cas asked with intrigue and genuine interest.
"It is for me", I answered with a straight face but soon smirked at Cas who looked as if he was taking lessons from a teacher.
I laughed before I opened the door. We stepped inside and my smile faded. There was blood on the wall, blood on the floor, blood everywhere. My eyes followed the stream of blood on the floor which lead up to Sam who was passed out on the floor.
"Sammy!" I quickly ran up to him and knelt down beside him.
I shook his shoulders vigorously but he wouldn't wake up. His face was bruised and bleeding. I couldn't figure out why he was laying on a huge pool of blood. That is until I gently lifted his body to the side and noticed the wound in his back.
"Cas, get bandages", I ordered and Cas nodded quickly and went to the cabinets.
A small moan came from Sam's mouth.
"Sammy?" I held his face with my hands, looking down at him with panic.
To my relief, his eyes slowly opened and he gritted his teeth in agony.
"Don't try to sit up", I shook my head when Sam struggled to move, "Just stay there. Cas?"
Cas came over to us with bandages and I grabbed them from his hands. I lifted up the back of Sam's shirt and stared with worry at the large wound in his back.
"Okay, now you might have to sit up", I told Sam and he grimaced as he struggled but I helped him.
"It's not as bad as it looks, Dean", Sam reassured me but his expression said otherwise.
"Just shut up", I sighed frustratedly and wrapped the bandage around his back and stomach multiple times, "What the hell happened?"
"Dean-"
"It was that son of a bitch, wasn't it?" my jaw tightened as I thought of Lucifer stabbing my brother.
Sam didn't respond. That was enough to tell me that my suspicions were true.
"Sam", Cas kneeled down and glanced at him worriedly, "I wish I could heal you".
"Why can't you?" Sam asked with concern.
Cas looked at me like a child does to their mother in a medical room when the doctor asks what the problem is. He wanted me to explain.
"He lost his grace", I told Sam.
"What?" Sam tried to sit up more but failed, "So, you're human?"
"I'm becoming one", Cas corrected him, "But that doesn't matter. What happened?"
Sam hesitated.
"Lucifer", Sam finally replied, watching my angered expression cautiously, "He turned up and he wasn't in the mood for talking".
"I'm gonna kill him", I muttered to myself, "The next time he appears, he's a dead man".
