~Sam~
"So, where have you two been?" I changed the subject from Lucifer, desperately trying to distract myself from the unimaginably painful feeling in my back.
"We have been eating pizza", Cas answered straightforwardly.
I laughed slightly at the thought of Cas and Dean eating a pizza like normal people.
"Sam, we should get you to a hospital", Dean said, worry still filling his eyes.
"Dean, I'm fine", I tried to smile, "Really. I just need to sleep it off".
"You can't sleep off a knife in the back", Dean replied.
"I don't want to go to the hospital", I refused, "I've had worse. I'm just tired".
"Alright", Dean gave in unsurely, "Come on".
Dean put his arm underneath my shoulders, just above where the wound was. He heaved me upwards and I groaned, grabbing onto him for support. Cas held my other arm up around his shoulders and they both helped me to my bed.
"I'm going to get blood on the sheets", I moaned with annoyance.
"I'll sort it out in the morning", Dean promised, "Just sleep".
I lowered myself down onto the mattress and winced when my back hit the bed. This wasn't as comfortable as I had hoped.
Cas lingered at the door, giving me a sympathetic look while Dean followed him out. Dean turned back to turn off the light and he shut the door on his way out.
It took me a few hours to finally fall asleep. It was nearly impossible with my back. I kept feeling the urge to turn over, as that was a habit when I was in bed, but every time I even breathed my back hurt.
Soon I eventually fell asleep and, before I knew it, it was morning.
My back was feeling a bit better but not exactly perfect. It took me a while to sit up properly. I looked at the bed and almost jumped at the sight. It looked like a murder scene on American Psycho.
I limped out of my bedroom and into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I would have a shower in about an hour. I just wasn't ready yet for the pain I was about to feel when hot water hit my back. Now that was going to hurt.
About five seconds after I exited the bathroom, Dean coincidently walked out of his bedroom. Before he noticed I was there, he frustratedly ran his hand against his face and sighed. I watched him with curiosity until he saw me. He smiled flatly.
"How did you sleep?" Dean asked.
"Honestly, it was the crappiest night of my life", I truthfully responded with a weak grin and tired eyes, "How about you?"
Dean's expression turned nervous before he shrugged.
"I slept fine", Dean answered too quickly, "Good. Yeah. Thanks".
Dean quickly moved over to the bathroom and disappeared for about half an hour. He soon returned with washed hair and he looked less tired. He automatically went over to grab a can of beer and he hummed with relief when he drank.
"Really?" I asked him, raising my eyebrows, "This early?"
"I need it", Dean replied, taking another gulp.
I looked around the room expectantly but it was empty.
"Where's Cas?" I asked.
"Uh", Dean paused and his eyes were looking at something behind me.
I turned around to see Cas who had appeared all of a sudden from nowhere.
"I thought you lost your grace", I said to Cas with confusion.
"I did", Cas confirmed, "I didn't teleport here. I just came from-"
"Cas", Dean suddenly stopped him and Cas tilted his head, frowning at Dean.
"What?" Cas asked.
"Nothing", Dean shook his head, looking irritated, "Just nothing".
Cas and I both stared at Dean, not understanding why he was acting so strange.
Dean drank the rest of his beer and immediately went for another can. He avoided eye contact with both of us.
